As Former FST Rep and student,
What Does FST Mean to You?
"FST is a great faculty. Its greatness comes from
its diversity, not only with students but also with
lecturers from all walks of life. From different
parts of the world to different religions, all
willing to come together. It is also great in the
calibre of lecturers we have; those who are
willing to donate their time out of the classroom
to help and even just talk with students. As a
student, I built lifelong friendships with people I
can call for professional help in projects or to
lime with. That balance is what makes FST. I have
known friends from my time in the swimming
team who went on to become lecturers in FST. It
is hard, being the sciences after all, but that
balance and how the students and lecturers come
together working on projects allowing everyone
to learn academics and life lessons makes FST the
greatest. "
2
Entrepreneurship
Catalogue
To support student entrepreneurship, the FSTSC
created a catalogue of students' business
endeavours and marketed it to students of the
faculty and, by extension, the university.
The businesses of FST students were given their
3 time to shine via this catalogue!
Christmas Hamper
Drive
To help students during the economic
hardship that COVID-19 has placed on the
world, the FSTSC sought to provide hampers.
Students who requested assistance were
given a lovely Christmas gift comprising of
groceries.

care of one's self. 8
FST Friday Nights Live
2021-2022 Edition
9
The Friday Nights Lives began as a way to give
students the chance to connect with the
members of the FSTSC by informal
conversations. Discussions such as "Life in a
Panoramic", "Vaccines" and even the more
informal "Which is easier, a degree or a
relationship?" The past FST Representative,
Micheal Joseph, hosted the talks accompanied
by special guests either from the Student
Council or from the Guild Council to join in
discussing the hot topic of the week!
10
Positivity Campaign
As part of the Positivity Campaign, the
Weekly positivity quotes were posted every
Monday to give students a good and
uplifting start to the week.
11
Mindfulness Mondays were also done to
remind students to take care of themselves
every week by giving them self care goals to
cross out on a bingo card. From enjoying
hobbies to exercise and doing something to
take one's mind off of schoolwork.
12
Halloween Costume
Competition
13
@asap_kimmy21
To celebrate Halloween, the FSTSC hosted their

As Former FST Rep and Student,
What Does FST Mean to You?
"It has always been my esteemed pleasure to serve
you in my capacity as your Guild FST
Representative and FST Student Council President.
The past year has not been an easy one, but the
success of my administration has resonated
throughout this trying period.
Though my tenure is coming to an end, rest assured
that I have done my homework and attended to the
needs and welfare of all students within this great
faculty. You have spoken, I have listened, and I have
delivered on my mandate given by you, the students
of FST. Through this publication, we, the outgoing
council, seek to encapsulate all that has been done
by your council over the 2020-2022 period under
your past two FST Representatives, Mr. Michael
Joseph and myself."
24
Introducing the First
GENDER REPRESENTATIVE
Mikella Hosein
The first Gender Representative, Mikella Hosein, made
her debut by introducing the difference between sex
and gender.
"Gender is a cross-cutting issue that we are
incorporating into the operations of the FST Student
Council. We thought it'd be handy for you to
understand it a little more!"
25 - Mikella Hosein
Gender:
The Agenda
Casual gender-friendly discussions, via Instagram
Live events, were hosted by our Gender
Representative, Mikella Hosein, with the President
of Pride UWI and the Faculty of Social Sciences
Representative as speakers.
This event and future instalments served to
approach the topics surrounding gender in a casual
setting, and discuss how they should be dealt with in
society. 26
Upgrading The Council
To represent the N1 Students and communicate
on any issues the department faced, Ms. Kelicia
McLean became our N1 Representative.
To aid our physics representative, Amaara
Beharry, Ms. Kaira Paul answered the call to
help keep the Physics department organised!
27
In addition to his role as Club Coordinator, Mr.
Savann Phillip also took up the role as the
FSTSC's first Publications Officer! Here he helped
with various publications including this very
magazine!
28
Vaccination Campaign
To help reduce the vaccine hesitancy within the
FST population, the FSTSC launched this campaign
answering various questions about vaccines to
show that it is safe. The FST Rep, along with
members of the Council, gave testimonials after
taking it, to demonstrate its efficacy.
29
We also sought to answer questions about
vaccines:
Why are they important?
How did they get made so fast?
And More!
30
FST Festival:
The Prequel
The prelude to the "FST Festival" gave a taste of
what was to come. With brief talks from clubs
and lecturers, it introduced what FST offers
regarding the academic experience as well as
clubs.
31
FST Friday Night Lives
Season 2
Continuing from the previous
administration, Friday Night Lives Season 2
debuted with Jeremiah Mathura and the
Vice-President, Brandon Ogeer, starting the
semester off strong to get everyone ready
for the 2021/2022 academic year.
Just as before, they allowed for casual
conversations between students and the
FSTSC as we operated digitally. 32
Weekly Science Fact
Spearheaded by the Club Coordinator, Savann
Phillip, the Weekly Science Facts present short
interesting facts from all the scientific fields,
from environmental to quantum physics to
chemistry.
33
Weekly Science Fact

new discoveries in genetics and more amazing
leaps in science to raise the curiosity of
students of FST.
34
FST Games Night
To start the academic year, the FST Games Night
was held on Discord for all of FST to enjoy.
Games such as Among Us, Codenames and Gartic
Phone were played by more than 50 players.
From chaotic scribbling in Scribbl to endless
accusations in Among Us, the semester started on
an energetic note.
35
The second instalment of FST Games Night had
a spooky twist with some new games like Trivia
Murder Party. Among Us and Codenames were
also brought back, along with others.
This aided in reducing mid-semester stress, as it
was a great brain cooler, allowing students to
continue moving forward with their studies.
36
Regional Interclubbing
2.0
Continuing from the previous year, Regional
Interclubbing 2.0 was an initiative involving

Each club gave presentations which
focused on the variety of life across the
region. From snakes and other reptiles
to different types of birds, each club
presented the importance of
biodiversity.
Physics
The group hosted presentations that
ranged from applications of physics in
different fields to the possibility of
bringing movie magic into reality.
