Welcome

To Bolton School Weddings

We would like to thank you for considering Bolton School as the venue for your special
day.
Set in 32 acres of grounds with origins dating back to 1516, Bolton School is one of
Lancashire’s oldest and finest venues. Our Grade ll listed building encompasses all of
your needs, providing you with a unique atmosphere for your special day.
We pride ourselves on our reputation and would love to look after your wedding. Our
experienced wedding team will offer you an impeccable service from start to finish
guiding you through all aspects of your day.
With only one wedding per day we can guarantee you our total dedication in ensuring
that your day runs smoothly, providing you with memories to hold onto for a lifetime.
A wedding is one of the most important days in your life and we want it to be perfect
for you in every way.

Civil Ceremonies

Our Civil Ceremony Licence allows us to offer you the exclusive use of two stunning
venues:-
The Great Hall is situated in the main school building. Built at the beginning of the last
century it creates an awe-inspiring atmosphere for your wedding ceremony. The Hall
boasts a traditional church organ and a stunning vaulted ceiling, which provide a
lasting impression your guests will remember forever.
The Main Hall in the Arts Centre is the second of our licenced rooms, this beautifully
restored banqueting hall provides the perfect intimate and romantic setting for your
ceremony.
As soon as you have provisionally held your ideal date with us, you need to contact the
Bolton Register Office on 01204 331185. The Registrar’s fee is payable directly to the
Registry Office prior to the ceremony day.

Day GuestPackage

Your wedding reception would take place in The Arts Centre. The fully licenced private
bar overlooks the stunning banqueting hall with its wonderful vaulted ceiling. The
outside patio area provides an ideal setting for your reception drinks.

Drinks & Canapés

Your guests will be welcomed with a reception drink, they can then relax whilst your
photographer captures your special day. Drinks will then be served during your wedding
breakfast and for the speeches.

Your day package includes

Reception Drinks A glass of Bucks Fizz, Pimms, Sparkling Wine, Mulled Wine or
Bottled Beer (maximum of 2 choices)

With the meal A half bottle of House Wine per person

Toast Drink A glass of Sparkling Wine

Soft Drinks will be provided for non-drinkers and children 11
Iced water is served as a standard during the wedding breakfast
Drinks can be upgraded to suit your requirements

Centre can accommodate up to 130 guests for the wedding breakfast.

After your relaxed wedding breakfast has been served there’s now the chance to dance Evening Reception Only

For couples wanting something a little less formal we have our Afternoon Tea Package
for 40 guests, which is available for weddings Monday - Thursday on selected dates
throughout the year.

Winter Wonderland

What can be more romantic than a fairy tale winter wedding?
This package is available for weddings in January, February and March and allows for 40
daytime guests and 80 evening guests.

Booking&Payment 25

Provisional Booking
Once you have settled on your perfect date we are able to hold your booking on a
provisional basis for up to 14 days

Confirming your booking
To confirm your booking a deposit of £500 is required, together with a signed contract

Further Payments
A £1,000 payment is due 12 months before your wedding date
A £1,500 payment is due 6 months before your wedding date

Final Details
We will contact you 6-8 weeks before your wedding date and invite you in to discuss
your day in detail, at this stage we would ask you for your final numbers, menu choices
and choice of drinks.

Final Balance Payments
Following your final details appointment a pro-forma invoice will be issued as we ask
that you settle this 1 month before your wedding date.

Please note that all deposit and final balance payments are non-refundable in the unfortunate event of a
cancellation
Wedding Insurance is advisable
