ABOUT SAN DIEGO OASIS

San Diego Oasis is an award-winning nonprofit organization serving people 50+ throughout the San Diego

living and intergenerational community service.

How are we changing the world?
1) We are solving Social Isolation, an urgent health issue in the rapidly growing older adult population;
2) We are changing the life course of low income students so that they are successful in life;
3) We are not duplicating anyone else’s work;
4) We are changing the way people think about aging.

Current Membership is 49,320. Membership is free. Class costs range from free to $15 per class.

INTERGENERATIONAL TUTORING

For thirty years, Oasis Intergenerational
Tutoring has consistently improved
students’ reading ability, academic
performance and attitudes about
learning. The program taps the
tremendous potential of committed
volunteers who have the time, patience
and life experience to make a profound
difference in the lives of children.
Each tutor is paired with an at-risk
elementary school student, one-on-one,
once a week for an hour, throughout an
entire year.

hosted its highly anticipated, free of

50+ virtually in 2020. This year, more
than 3,000 older adults are expected
to join us for cutting edge technology
learning that improves quality of life
and engagement. Once held in our
own facilities, going virtual brought in
attendees from across the U.S., and
even internationally.

2020 Dates: October 19 - 21

You can visit our Tech Fair page on the
website to view presentations from our
first ever virtual event in 2020. Just
click on Classes and Events, then click
on Technology Fair.

LET’S
PALOOZA!

We kick off each year with a Fitness
Palooza that showcases the many
fitness and exercises classes that we
offer. This allows our members to try
out a class, meet an instructor, and then
sign up for the classes that meet their
needs or pique their interests.
Whether it be in our own Wellness
Center, as in years past, or online as
we did this year, it’s a great opportunity
to brush off the winter doldrums and
get energized for the year ahead.
