Basic Description of Covid - 19
• Coronavirus is a large family of viruses that cause respiratory tract
infections such as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and
Middle East Respiratory Syndrome-related Coronavirus (MERS-CoV).
The latest and most pandemic coronavirus is now known as Novel
Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19).
• There are 4 other types of corona virus that infect humans and cause
mild flu. But for now, COVID-19 still shows the characteristics of
severe infection, especially among the elderly and those with chronic
diseases.
Basic Description of

COVID-19 was first detected in China with the first
case confirmed on January 7, 2020 in Wuhan, Hubei,
China. The first case in Malaysia was confirmed on 25
January 2020. To date, COVID-19 disease is still
contagious in Malaysia. Since September 20, 2020,
Malaysia has entered the beginning of the third wave of
COVID-19 following the sharp increase in cases of
COVID-19 virus infection.
How Does Covid – 19 Spread?
