40 Testimonial Gathering PhilSys Testimonial gathering is one of the significant initiative of the agency, collecting feedback and experiences from individuals who have interacted with the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys). These testimonials provide valuable insights into how PhilSys has impacted the lives of the people it serves. Through these testimonials, the effectiveness of the system is better understood, identify areas for improvement, and celebrate the successes of PhilSys in providing secure and convenient identification services to all Filipinos. During 2023, a total of 22 testimonial gatherings were convened to gather individuals' perspectives on PhilSys and the usage of the PhilID. Philippine Identification System 41 PhilSys Information Dissemination The Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) – Aklan, under the Philippine Statistics Authority – Provincial Office, conducted various PhilSys Information Dissemination activities in the province. This included information dissemination during the Family Development Session (FDS) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). The primary objectives of the PhilSys information dissemination activity were to raise awareness among the community, particularly 4Ps beneficiaries, about the importance of having a PhilID. Another information dissemination took place during the year at Guinbaliwan Elementary School (ES) in Guinbaliwan, New Washington, Aklan, on November 17. More than 200 attendees participated in the said information dissemination forum. These activities aimed to inform the public about the importance of PhilID and ePhilID, institutionalizing the acceptance as sufficient proof of identity in both government and private transactions. In addition, the speakers discussed the PhilSys Check and the process and procedures for replacing PhilID, as well as providing updates on lost or stolen PhilID and updating services. These various events were successful in hosting interactive open forums that primarily addressed the concerns of the public. Additionally, another information dissemination event was held at Brgy. Loctuga, Libacao, Aklan, on December 23. Approximately 150 attendees were present at the event, coinciding with the PSA PhilSys gift-giving activity. 45 DISSEMINATION FORUM ON THE 2022 RESULTS OF PROVINCIAL PRODUCT ACCOUNTS Data Fora The Aklan Provincial Statistical Office held its data dissemination forum on the results of the 2020 – 2022 Provincial Product Account of the province of Aklan at Royal Suites Condotel, Kalibo, Aklan on December 1, 2023. The result of PPA brought good news to the province, having it to be the fastest growing economy in Western Visayas. The said event was attended by Provincial Statistical Committee (PSC) members, LGU Municipal Planning and Development Officers (MPDOs) and Business and Permit Licensing Officers (BPLOs), Policy makers and stakeholders, representatives coming from National Government Agencies (NGAs), Academe, Media and PSA personnel. During the course of the open forum, Engr. Johann Ken Juguan, MPDO of Nabas, presented the rich resources of timberlands in the municipality of Nabas. These agricultural opportunities has great potential to boost the economic activity of the province. Moreover, Engr. 46 Philippine Statistics Quiz The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Aklan conducted the 27th Philippine Statistics Quiz Provincial Level held at Aklan Catholic College on October 25. Two college students of Aklan State University Kalibo Campus namely: Ms. Jeriah Borrerros, and Ma. Jedel Idolog copped the two major places, First Place and Second Place respectively. They are both taking up BS in Civil Engineering course in the said university. They vested 22 other contestants coming from different colleges and universities in the province. Meanwhile, Mr. Rob Joseph Emman Ricamonte of ASU Ibajay took home the 3rd Place. Winners were awarded with a certificate of recognition, cash prize and tokens given by Engr. Antonet B. Catubuan, Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA Aklan. These three represented the province of Aklan in the regional competition held in Iloilo City last November 10. The participating schools for this year’s PSQ are Aklan Catholic College (ACC), Libacao College of Science and Technology (LSCT), Northwestern Visayan Colleges (NVC), STI Kalibo and ASU Banga, Ibajay, Kalibo and New Washington Campus. The PSQ is conducted among freshmen college students to promote and instill the value of statistics to the youths for decision making, policy formulation and other development program initiatives. Sampaton, and it covered a number of subjects, such as the fundamental application procedures in CRS Outlets, the documentation and filing procedures for civil registration documents, and other updates on ITP2 operations. In the meantime, Mr. Rene Fernando, the PhilSys Focal Person, gave details about the CRS Basic Online Authentication Application, how to install authentication devices, and how to troubleshoot malfunctioning devices. 55 Publications Every year PSA-Aklan published and submits two of its major publication, this year the 2022 Annual Report and 2023 Countryside in Figures are submitted to the KMCD on the month of March and October, respectively. The Annual Report features various activities undertaken by the office during the reference year. The annual report is composed, among others, of the following sections: Statistical Operations, Civil Registration, Philippine Identification System, Information Dissemination, Administrative and Support Functions, Partnership and Linkages, Organizational Chart, and Directories. On the other hand, CIF is sort of a compendium of various statistics in the province of Aklan. The publication presents statistical data on the following: Population, Vital Statistics, Poverty Statistics, Education, Justice and Crime, Transportation and Public Works and Highways, Social Assistance Program, Health Care and Services, Agriculture, Fisheries, Prices, and Tourism Statistics. These data are disaggregated data down to the municipal and barangay levels with corresponding highlights. In 2023, a total of 2023 Press Releases were published by PSA Aklan. Among these releases, the inflation report is published monthly while most were information dissemination for the National ID of Philsys Aklan. Of this number, a total of 49 mandays were forced leave rotated among the 12 regular employees of the office. This was followed by 20.5 applications for sick leave, comprising a significant portion of the total applications. Additionally, there were 10 applications for leave under the Social Leave category. Conversely, the least filed types of leave applications were compensatory and vacation leave, with only 7 applications recorded for each. It was participated by the regular employees and admin-based contractual personnel. Matters that was discussed during the review were the PW Forms, civil registration updates and accounting feedbacks. During the Mid-Year Assessment Review, the topic of Quality Management System (QMS) Audit was thoroughly discussed, emphasizing the importance of strict compliance with audit procedures. It was reiterated that adherence to these protocols is paramount in ensuring the efficacy and reliability of our quality management practices. On November 10, 2023, an ISO 9001:2015 Internal Quality Audit was conducted in the province of Aklan. CRASD Chief William G. Jaro and Chief Statistical Specialist of Capiz, Frankie D. Dordas served as the auditors for the Internal Quality Management Audit. This undertaking is crucial for Philippine Statistics Authority - Aklan to review specific processes and procedures within the province, as it aims to rectify any shortcomings and improve organizational practices. PSA Aklan attended the 1st Quarter Provincial Statistics Council (PSC) meeting organized by the Aklan Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) on March 17, 2023, at the Aklan Provincial Governor’s Office Conference Room, Capitol Bldg, Kalibo, Aklan. Among the agenda that were tackled during the meeting were the review and updates on the PSC Board Members, PSC Memorandum of Agreement/Resolutions, update on PSA statistical operations, and PSC Calendar of Activities for 1st Semester. Provincial Statistical Committee (PSC) First Quarter PSC Meeting Other agencies involved in the said committee comprised DAR, DILG, DTI, DepEd, DOLE, AKENRO, PSWDO, Aklan State University, Provincial Budget Office (PBO), Provincial Engineering Office (PEO), and Provincial Health Office (PHO). CSS Engr. Antonet B. Catubuan provided information on 2022 CAF, manpower requirements, and its schedule of activities. Meanwhile, Mr. Peter S. 2 0 2 3 A n n u al R e p o r t P r o vin c e o f A kla n PSA Aklan joined in the advocacy campaign of One Billion Rising with the theme “Rise for Freedom and to Create the New Culture” on February 17, 2023, at the Aklan Provincial Capitol Bldg., Estancia, Kalibo. The event which is launch every year is the biggest mass action to end violence against women. This activity was spearheaded by the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) in partnership with the Aklan Gender and Development Commission (AGADC), and was participated by representatives of the different government agencies in the province. One Billion Rising The Philippine Statistics Authority - Aklan conducted a Clean-Up Drive at the coastal area of Barangay Jawili, Tangalan, Aklan on April 25, 2023. PSA Aklan employees gathered on the beach to pick up trash and other recyclable waste found in the vicinity. The activity is one of the advocacies of the organization to protect our natural resources as well as to raise awareness on the importance of keeping the environment clean and to promote proper waste reduction and management. 66 Coastal Clean Up Drive Partnership & Linkages
PSA-Aklan’s Provincial Head, Engr. Antonet B. Catubuan, was invited by the Aklan Provincial Planning and Development Office to deliver a message for the participants of the 2023 Public and Private Junior High School Provincial Statistics Quiz last October 6, 2023 at the Gov. Corazon L. Cabagnot Tourism and Training Center, Old Buswang, Kalibo, Aklan her message, Engr. Catubuan commended the contestants for their dedication in enhancing their knowledge in the field of statistics. Moreover, she encouraged the contestants to strive for the best and reminded them that they are already winners embracing the challenge of the said statistics quiz. Along with CSS Catubuan is Ms. Dione Ann Diane F. Tapican who acted as judge in the said activity and Ms. Alyssa Mae D. Berlandino who formulated some of the quiz’s questions. A total of twelve (12) schools participated in the contest. Ms. Tapican received a certificate of appreciation for sharing her valuable time and expertise in the said event. Aklan Career Expo Job Fair On November 20-21, 2023, the Philippine Statistics Authority-Aklan participated in the 2023 Aklan Career Expo (ACE) Job Fair organized by the Aklan Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) at the ABL Sports Complex, Estancia, Kalibo, Aklan. This activity aims to provide employment opportunities to Aklanons who are seeking for job. The participation of PSA was in a form of national ID registration particularly to those who are not yet registered so that they will no longer visit the PhilSys Fixed Registration Center to have their personal information and biometrics registered. Likewise, the office also offered assistance for those who are securing civil registry documents or have queries on their CRDs which are needed for their job application. Around seven availed of this assistance, while five was able to benefit in the PhilID registration. 452nd Foundation Day Celebration of the Municipality of Kalibo On November 7, 2023, PSA Aklan attended the 452nd Municipality of Kalibo Foundation Day Celebration, which was held at the Municipal Building in Poblacion, Kalibo, Aklan. This is in response to the LGU Kalibo's request that Kalibonhons receive free services. PSA Aklan offered services to anyone who wanted to verify the status of their ePhilID and to those who haven't yet applied for a national ID. Additionally, PSA Aklan provided support to those with questions regarding their civil register paperwork as well as the prerequisites and steps for late registration. Hon Juris B. Sucro The Kalibo Municipal presented PSA Aklan a certificate of gratitude for their free services to the people of Kalibo. Brigada Eskwela Stakeholder’s Appreciation and Recognition of School On August 10, 2023, PSA Aklan was present at the Brigada Eskwela Stakeholder's Appreciation and Recognition of Schools held at the Numancia Sports and Cultural Complex in Numancia, Aklan. This is in answer to an invitation from Mr. Roland F. Democrito, Administrative Officer V of the Aklan Schools Division of the Department of Education (DepED). Public school district supervisors, district social mobilization and networking coordinators, district federated PTA presidents, school heads, school brigada eskwela coordinators, PTA presidents, partners and stakeholders, and additional DepED officials are in attendance at the aforementioned event. The purpose of the activity is to acknowledge the assistance of their principal partners and stakeholders. Ms. Dione Ann Diane F. Tapican, PPA Statistical Analyst, accepted the plaque of appreciation on behalf of PSA Aklan. ADIPH Implementation In Ati Village located in Boracay Island, the Philippine Statistics Authority - Aklan took part in the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples' (NCIP) Formulation of Ancestral Domain Investment Plan for Health (ADIPH). Manoc-Manoc on February 16, 2023, in Malay, Aklan. PSA Aklan was represented at the aforementioned activity by Ms. Stephanie Denise R. De Roma, a birth registration agent, and Mr. Rey M. Campos, a Registration Officer II.
