“Wendycot”,Chelmsford Road, SCHOOL CAR PARKING
Hatfield Heath,
OFFER OF POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS
Bishop’S Stortford, Herts Dear Bruno,
Having seen all the letters regarding parking on the school

James Gardening Service to ensure that school parents did not use our car park and
make it dangerous for our nursery parents to get their
All Garden Works children to us. The children made road safety awareness
posters to display around the area and also had help from the
& Odd Jobs community police officer to stop school parents from
parking on the mini roundabout by the school and just
01279 651 498 07963 989 851 making their children get out into the road to go in to school.

PARENTS SHOULD THINK
BEFORE BEING ABUSIVE
It worked really well. I understand that parking is difficult
but I do think that parents should think before being abusive
towards other people who ask them to move on, especially
as if there was an accident they may find themselves relying
on a non-parent to administer first aid to their child in an
attempt to save their lives. What is more important, the life
of their child or taking a few extra minutes to ensure their
safe arrival at school. Also maybe they all need to think
about the example they set for their children as the teachers
work hard to provide children with an education about
communities and what they can achieve together. It's states
in the EYFS that we should accept communities and be
proud to be part of one that prides itself on diversity and
values everyone. You can't value someone when you are
shouting or swearing at them and like wise when you ignore
them, everyone's views should count and one member of the
community should not be more important than the safety and
well-being of everyone else.
MAYBE A SMALL SCHOOL BUS

OR SHARE CARS
Maybe a small school bus would be helpful if many children
come from the local surrounding areas and cannot walk to
the school. Or the school could encourage parents to share
cars and yes I'm very aware of the law about police checks
but if you cannot trust a friend to take your children to
school what has become of the world around us. Everyone
needs to show community spirit and remember that a small
amount of politeness can get you a long way, as my Nan
always said what goes around comes around! If you want
your children to respect you and the community you have to
respect them yourselves.
Yours sincerely
Miss C Steggles

If a development of say 60 homes (2/3/4 Bedrooms to

problem from reoccurring in the future, and maintaining
the present level of playing fields.

William Mark Fisher R A
Mark Fisher was born in Boston USA in 1841. He
came from a very poor family but at the age of 14
he was apprenticed to his cousin as a sign writer.
With his obvious artistic gifts he began to study art
at the Lowell Institute and then found work as a
portrait painter.
He met the landscape artist George Inness who
proposed he went to Paris to study impressionist
painting. On finishing his studies he returned to
Boston but his style met with little success in
America and he returned to Europe.

Little Brewers 1918

In 1901 he moved to Little Brewers at Hatfield
Heath and was there until his death in 1923. He
was elected to the Royal Academy in 1919 and
exhibited there for many years. Among his local
works were The Orchard, The Crossroads and
Harlow Mill(1912). His daughter, Margaret, also

DESIGN Having left School in 1965 it was easy at that time to
CERAMIC TILING find apprenticeships for practically any trade. I decided
to start a five year indentured
LIGHTING apprenticeship as an electrician. Having
WOODWORK ETC. completed my apprenticeship and
achieved all the necessary qualifications
All carried out with the minimum I decided that I needed a greater
of fuss and mess by experts! challenge in life so on the 3rd June 1970 I joined Essex
Also all Plumbing & Police as a new keen young Constable.
Domestic Heating Installations After spending many years of operational Policing and
instead of promotion I decided that my interests were
SO LOOK NO FURTHER THAN leaning towards Electronic Security so the chance of
going into the Crime Prevention Dept was eagerly taken
C.F OAKES and for approx 12 years I enjoyed the post of CPO
serving in the Basildon/Castle Point/Southend areas of
Established in Harlow for over 45 years Essex.

To have a Police response to your alarm system far more than the cost of having a professionally fitted
Companies need to be ‘recognised companies’ who are alarm system
members of a Security Industry inspectorate, the If you are considering having an alarm installed or this
inspectorate then demands all the employees are security article has made you decide to get your own system
screened and that the company installs to a high industry maintained you can normally get a compliant company
standard in to service most systems
With regard to the actual type of Alarm Systems there are

many types on the market they are all basically known as Gordon John Sinclair

either ‘Hard Wired’ or ‘Wire Free’. Company Director Security Systems Group Ltd

The minimum Standard to ask for is BS 4737/EN 50131

this is for a hard wired system as opposed to a wire free

system. TUITION IN PIANO
Police Forces refer to Alarm System as ‘Type A ‘ or

‘Type B’ ORGAN OR SINGING
Type A : these are Police monitored, all activations must
terminate at approved ‘Alarm Receiving Stations’

installers must be a recognised compliant Company and In Hatfield Heath Studio
install the system to BS 4737/EN 50131 (High Security

Systems) or BS 6799 Class V1 (Wire Free Alarms) these Enquiries to

system are registered with the Police at cost and are Christopher Bayston
issued with a Unique Reference Number known as the

URN. MA (Cantab) ARCO
.Type B: These Systems are known as ‘Bells Only’ or

hybrid alarms there are no special demands by Police 01279 731 711
There are also other Alarm Calling Systems these

systems can also be monitored at ‘Alarm Receiving

Stations’ and can be very cost effective Lampwork Beads - Silver
Another system very popular now days with little
expense is the ‘Autodialler’ type, when your alarm Glasswork

activates it sends a signal to up to 4 persons of your Original and Distinctive Jewellery
choice including mobile phones
Another system fairly new to the market which we are &

Lampworkbeads

increasingly being asked to fit are systems connected to Designed and Handmade Locally
the internet where CCTV cameras and listening devices
are part of the system, customers can then dial into their www.lampworkbeadsandsilver.com
system and visually or audible check on their Shop online or just browse
home/business from anywhere in the world.
Be aware of the Environmental Protection Act Local I am happy to work on individual items,
Councils have powers to enter properties to shut down so whether for a gift or for just something personal
annoying alarm systems,. If they do take this action it
please send a message via my contact page or
ring Chris on 07976 966 491

will be a very expensive lesson, costs and fines are often
