been changed by deed poll upon his mother's marriage
sometime after the war. He claimed to be the son of my
great grandfather. The address from which Mr. Edwin
Madden had corresponded from was:

Hatfield Heath CP School FC finally got their new West
Essex League campaign underway last month, and they
did it in emphatic style.

Defending the league title for the third year in a row, al-
beit under the leadership of new manager Mr Clements,
the side thrashed local rivals Little Hallingbury 4-0 in an
away game.

Goals came courtesy of Tom Winfield (2), Jacob Hume HATFIELD HEATH BEAT SURGERY
and skipper Rory Marrow. Marrow told Heath Sport: “On
