Extension of 30mph and 40mph limits along the Sheering
Road (B183). Awaiting output of survey by ECC Highways.
ECC Highways [ All A and B roads in Essex were subject to a
speed limit review in 2011 with the sites identified for a change
currently being amended. No documentation to suggest that
the B183 between Hatfield Heath and Sheering has been
earmarked for any changes. I will Investigate further]

Zebra crossing between school and Holy Trinity church.
This request has been rejected in the past as the only pedestrian
traffic was to and from the church. There is now considerable
pedestrian traffic comprising school children and their parents.
Still unlikely to warrant a crossing.

ECC Highways [There are many reasons why a zebra crossing
would be unfeasible at this location. Firstly there does need to
be a recognised and consistent pedestrian flow but with the
church being the only destination that pedestrians would need
to cross the road for this site does not meet the criteria. Also
the average speed must not exceed 35mph at sites where a
zebra crossing is being requested. Although we haven’t
undertaken a survey recently the figures obtained from the
mobile VAS had suggested that this was activated with much
frequency suggesting that a large number of vehicles were
exceeding the 30 limit.

Razed Roof – can you help? 12080 Apr 2013

Razed Roof is an inclusive theatre company based at
Harlow Playhouse, and a registered Charity. We
bring together adults with learning difficulties and
disabilities and young people from mainstream
education, supported by an experienced team of
staff and volunteers. We provide theatre work skills
training and opportunities for public performance,
and develop social skills and confidence.

We have an excellent reputation. In 2011 we
reached the finals of the National Lottery “Best
Arts” Awards and appeared on national television;
we regularly perform at community events in the
area and our next Playhouse production is in May
2013. Our income comes only from applying for
grants for specific projects and from fundraising.
We hope to start a second group shortly, and need
funds to support this.

We have been selected by Harlow Business
Exhibition as one of their two Charities for the Year,
and are also seeking sponsorship for Catherine
Ridge, who is running in the London Marathon for
