Rainfall was recorded on twelve days in February
2015. The total came to 37.25mm (1.47ins). On
average we have experienced 1.91inches, so we had
a dry February 2015 with only 77% of our mean.
Looking back over last year, it is interesting to see
how we compared with Sawbridgeworth.

The Vicar
Writes
Dear Hatfield Heath Residents,
The shortest days are behind us now and the weather is
getting warmer. Springtime is always a good time in
Hatfield Heath. The fields are turning a brighter shade of
green and many of our gardens are looking colourful. At
Church we have celebrated the spring festivals of Lent
and Mothering Sunday. Many proud parents were with
us to celebrate Mums and the caring love of God.
Soon we will be marking Easter. Holy Trinity Church hosts Open Tues - Thurs 9 am-5 pm
the Annual Easter Egg hunt at 12.00noon on Easter Fri 9 am-6 pm
Sunday. No doubt many of us have already seen in the
shops the tempting chocolate eggs in many different Sat 9am-4pm
forms and sizes. (And some of us have been more
tempted than others!) Here is a simple way those eggs 15039 May 15
can remind us of the events of the first Easter –
Most of the larger chocolate eggs are just a shell. This
can reflect the tomb that Jesus was placed in after the
events of his death on the Cross on Good Friday.
Christians believe that by Easter Sunday the tomb was
empty as Jesus had risen from the dead. He had come
back to life.
If true, this is such an amazing thing. It shows us that God
in Jesus knows what it is to live a human life, and to
experience the worst that the world can throw at us –
even death. Yet Jesus came through it to life again. With
God there is always a way through even the most
daunting obstacles.
Jesus is the resurrection and the life. He can transform
death and despair, in any form, into life and hope. This is
why many Easter eggs have something nice and sweet
inside too. Easter is good news for all.
As we enjoy the new season of the year in Hatfield Heath
may God’s blessings go with you all.
Best wishes,
Stewart
