March 2015 THE MAGAZINE THAT KEEPS YOU IN TOUCH Est. 1893

3rd April 2015 deadline The Village Hall, Hatfield Heath
Wednesday 18th- Saturday 21st March at 8pm
The Parish Council has decided that an appraisal
should be carried out so that all villagers have the
opportunity to give their input on local characteristics,
needs, threats, strengths and opportunities within
Hatfield Heath.

A direct result of the last appraisal is that
28 affordable homes have been built,
street lighting provided in Broomfields
and The Close, 30mph and 40mph speed
limits introduced, a free village magazine
delivered to every household and the wildlife
area restored and maintained.

A small group of volunteers from the village has put
together an initial Questionnaire to get the views and
opinions of Hatfield Heath residents on living in the
village. The information gathered will be used to put
together the next Hatfield Heath Parish Plan, which is
the expression of the community on how they would
like the village to develop in the future. It will result in
an action plan that demonstrates how these
developments will be achieved by the Parish Council

Extra copies are available at the Post Office, Footprint, Tickets £9 (concessions £7 Wed-Fri only)

Clipped Hedge

Dear readers,
It is the belief of my wife and I that since we
moved to Clipped Hedge in 1992 there has
been un-gated access on foot from the end of
Clipped Hedge into the adjacent land to the
North of Clipped Hedge (locally know as
Tayler’s Field). We have also not seen any
signage to indicate lack of access, akin to that
which has appeared over the years on the ad-
jacent properties.

If anyone has any information supporting or con-
tradicting this belief (especially the latter) we
would be most grateful in hearing from you (Tel:
01279 730412; email:

Many thanks in anticipation,

JOHN LOST 10 STONE IN 6 MONTHS

LIFE began again at 50 for Hatfield Heath man John 15027 Dec 2015
Jackson – when he decided to lose an incredible 15035 Dec2015
TEN STONES in weight.
The landmark birthday, just six months ago, was the
start of a journey which has seen him not only reach
his target, but find a whole new career and fresh
outlook.

The weight-loss Cambridge Weight Plan involved
meal replacements, including a shake and fruit for
breakfast, a bar for lunch and a healthy salad or
stir-fry in the evening.
John said: "I never calorie counted, I just tried to be
healthier."
He also threw himself into tending his own large
garden. He soon found his skills were in demand
elsewhere and before he knew it, he was walking
miles every day mowing lawns, weeding and
planting hanging baskets – and he had found his
new career.
He said: "My boys are really proud of me and I'm
incredibly proud of myself."

summer I am climbing up

worthy cause.
My aim is to raise £2,790, so I am
asking if you could please donate, it
doesn't matter how much, it would
help a great deal no matter what. You
