The Hatfield Heath Accordion Band

Dear Bruno,
I just thought you might like to include news of Imogen Miller
from Hatfield Heath, who was awarded third place in the
under-12 instrumental solo section at the Llangollen
International Music Eisteddfod at the end of last term. She was
playing her Classical Bayan button accordion. She had to win
through two preliminary competitions against other
instruments and players from all over the world. In the final,
televised live, Imogen played two contrasting pieces: A french
musette and a pastoral by Toralf Tollefsen. The judges
commented on the maturity, musicality and sensitivity of her
playing. Imogen and her sister Sophia were also asked to play
in two impromptu concerts at the Eisteddfod.
Another player Tom Strain, who also plays with the Hatfield
Heath Accordion Band, he lives in Worcester but has lessons
with me via Skpe, came second at the Eisteddfod.
The Hatfield Heath Accordion Band have been asked to play
at the Eisteddfod next year. I enclose a photo of the band
playing at Fitzwilliam Court in Old Harlow. Please note that our
youngest player Josh is a one year old and is being held by
his Mum. Josh did play his accordion during the performance!
