Matters from last meeting and Action Register

Travellers arrived on the Village Green on 6th June and
Bidwells approached Essex Police to assist with bailiffs to
have them removed. Police asked Bidwells not to use this
route on this occasion as there was insufficient space in the
custody suite if arrests had to be made, and to proceed with a
court order.
Bidwells arranged to have the documents prepared and were to
attend Chelmsford Court on Tuesday 12th at 9 am to obtain
the order, but the travellers left the previous evening.
The immense amount of rubbish left was cleared on Tuesday
by Michael Hockley and Stuart Grieve and put into a skip
organised by ML.
Clerk to write a letter of thanks to Michael and Stuart for their
prompt action in clearing the Village Green. Resolved to grant
an ex-gratia payment to both Michael and Stuart of £100 each
Clerk to write to Chairman of the Police Authority expressing
our dissatisfaction with the advice given to Bidwells and copy
to Chief Constable and Sir Alan Haselhurst. BJ suggested we
put details into the Village Magazine
ML will ask for a meeting with Sir Alan Haselhurst.
