Then mix all the ingredients for the meatballs in a bowl & mix with clean hands or use gloves. Form the meatballs about the size of a walnut & place them separately on a baking sheet. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes. Add meatballs to the sauce & heat over medium heat until bubbles appear. Reduce heat & cook for 20 minutes, stirring gently. Make the sandwich, open the bread (I use hoagie buns) lengthwise. Cut some meatballs in half & put them between the bread with a fork. Cover with sauce & cheese slices. In large bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, brown sugar, baking powder & soda, salt. In second bowl, whisk together buttermilk, eggs & honey until well blended. Fold buttermilk mixture into cornmeal mixture, just to combine. Fold 1/2 cup melted butter into batter just to combine.
