Alhamdulillah, syukur kepada Allah swt kerana
diizinkan oleh-Nya dan diberi kekuatan untuk
warga YaPEIM secara keseluruhannya meneruskan tugasan yang dipertanggungjawabkan dalam
merealisasikan visi dan misi institusi ini, di samping menyantuni masyarakat melalui aktiviti-
aktiviti sosioekonomi dan amal jariah yang dilaksanakan terutamanya melalui Program Inspirasi
YaPEIM yang terbahagi kepada 3 komponen iaitu Inspirasi Ramadhan, Inspirasi Sekolah Rendah
(SR) dan Inspirasi Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM). Program Inspirasi yang dilaksanakan ini adalah
program khusus bagi menyantuni kumpulan sasar dikalangan pelajar untuk meningkatkan
kapasiti dan kehidupan mereka.
Saya dengan ini mengambil kesempatan mengucapkan ribuan terima kasih dan penghargaan
kepada semua pihak yang terlibat dalam menjayakan program ini khususnya seluruh kepimpinan
dan warga Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia (KPM), Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri (JPN), Pejabat
Pendidikan Daerah (PPD), Pengetua dan Guru Besar serta guru-guru yang memberi sokongan

PREFACE

This module is designed to cater for the low achievers. Based on the previous
national exam results, statistic showed that there were still a large number of pupils who were
unable to acquire the basic skills in the English Language subject. The aim of this module is to
help the low achievers to acquire the minimum requirement in the English-language 013 and 014
papers (MTM-menguasai tahap minimum). It is focused on trying to help the pupils to get at
least the minimum marks to pass the papers. The main idea of this module is to share ideas how
to help pupils tackle the problematic areas in the 013 and 014 paper. The module also includes
ways to overcome the common errors made by the UPSR candidates.

This module is a collection of some suggested method carried out by excellent
teachers throughout the nation in tackling the 013 and 014 papers. It caters for the low achievers
and intermediate pupils. It may not be the best method but it has been proven applicable and
effective for the targeted group of pupils in some schools. Feel free to adapt and adopt the
activities to suit the pupils’ proficiency level. We, the module writers, are especially indebted to
teachers, educators and all individuals for their valuable advice, suggestions and contributions of
ideas to ensure the betterment of this year’s module.
