Inside the city area, you’ll find plenty of traditional architecture ripe with lovely little cafes and bars, making it easy to find a good company. Where life is really hard in Slovenia. A career criminal with a record dating back to 1967, he gained notoriety for murdering five women in a homestead in Dolenja Vas pri Polhovem Gradcu from 1976 to 1978, whose remains he burned inside a stove. The brutality of the crimes led him to become one of the most infamous Slovenes in the country's history, with one website stating that he was more well-known than most politicians. The interesting storytelling of Slovenia. The legend of the sunken bell claims there is a bell at the bottom of Lake Bled. A young grieving widow had it cast in memory of her beloved husband. The bell never reached the island in Lake Bled: it sank to the bottom of the lake during a terrible storm. The widow spent the rest of her life in a convent as a nun. After her death, the Pope consecrated a new bell and sent it to the island in Lake Bled. No one knows which Pope. The widow's wish was granted and the church bell on the island in Lake Bled still makes wishes come true – you just have to ring it. 2

The traditional Slovenian wedding. Šranga (The obstacle) The traditional Slovenian wedding consists of much activity. It all begins in the morning at the Bride's house. In the rural areas of Slovenia, it is still a tradition for the groom to pick up the bride from her house on their wedding day. On the way to her house, the local young men prepare Šranga (a wooden obstacle), to block the road and stop the groom from getting to his bride. When he arrives at the obstacle, he is given two options. He can either pay the local men or saw through the Šranga. Once he makes his way through, the young men try to trick him again. At the bride’s house, they dress an older person in the wedding dress, and they try to pass him/her off as the bride. Again, the groom has to pay in order to get the bride and to get married. 5
