Leatherhead Tools' Story

In late 2006 and early 2007, we started visiting firehouses in the Rockford Metro area and realized
that there were many firefighters and departments seeking innovative products at a better price.
After consulting with many of the area firefighters, we decided that they could bring value
to this neglected market through high quality tools manufactured and assembled in the USA.
In less that one year’s time, we developed a full line of Fire and Rescue products including: axes,
sledges, hooks and forcible entry tools and were ready to hit the main stream.
When looking for a name to embody our new line, LEATHERHEAD TOOLS® was born.
This name encompasses the toughness and durability that represents these tools today.

LEATHERHEAD TOOLS is a fire and rescue services leading manufacturer of aggressive axes,
sledges, hooks, and forcible entry tools. Our tool line is engineered for the most extreme fire and
rescue environments. LEATHERHEAD TOOLS is dedicated to listening and learning
from firefighters and rescue personnel all over the world in building these products.
