Deerland Park deer sanctuary is
actually a small family owned petting
zoo situated in Bukit Rengit,
Lanchang. It’s a 2 hours drive from
Kuala Lumpur
After passing a cage with birds, you
will be given a small basket of potatoes
cut into strips to feed the deer. It is
interesting and fascinating during the
deer-feeding session as you can touch
the wild animals that have been tamed
and trained to allow human to go near
the deer and touch them. The deer
know that you are coming with food.
Then, you will come to a large fenced-
up where the deer freely roam under
the trees.
After passing the deer, there are a few other
cages containing various types of animals. You
can see various of birds, cats, hedgehogs,
guinea fowl, peacocks, raccoons, rabbits and
the super cute prairie dogs standing on their
hind legs looking at you while chewing the
kuaci.
Further along the trail, we will come across
the pythons. The staff will drape it around your
neck for photo session.
We will also see various types of reptiles at
reptiles section.
For those interested in the natural flora of the
region, Deerland Park leads medicinal herb
treks into the jungle, where about 40 species
of herbs grow
