THE ALUMINIUM WALLET FROM SWEDEN

Scandinavia is known for design. Therefore, it’s fitting the Ögon
company has its roots in Sweden.
At the beginning of year 2000, Thomas Marcel, the creator of the
brand, noticed the most stylish Swedes are using metal cigarette cases
to carry their identity cards, credit cards and bank notes. How clever !
The idea of a hard wallet grew in the mind of the young creator of Ögon.
He developed the concept with a research agency in Stockholm over the
course of 2 years, while also gaining inspiration from metallic suitcases.
After perfecting the design, the first model was born. The company then
moved to Paris in 2004.

With the arrival of Ögon in 2004, it was like a small revolution against the leather goods
market. The Stockholm model launch would shake the sector. The Stockholm was the first
aluminium designed wallet made with aluminium.

Alu has many advantages: this alloy is light, hard, stainless and 100% recyclable.
So that’s a durable and ecological material.
As an environmentally conscious company, Ogon Designs uses recycled aluminium,
produces as much as possible locally and bans the use of harmful chemical
materials such as lead and nickel etc.

Since 2012, Ögon’s new visual identity and collections are inspired by the famous French
designer Eric Berthes. The talented creator has already worked for some of the best brands
worldwide such as Bollinger, Sonia Rykiel, Corum, and Ruinart. Designer

To ensure excellence, since 2015 ögon products are made in France and assembled in our
facilities in Normandy (France).

WALLETS

Every Ögon product, due to
their aluminium cover, acts
like small Faraday cages.
They stop magnetic waves
and protect the cards against
demagnetization.
Even better, all models are
certified “RFID Safe”because
by blocking the waves they
prevent from scanning credit
card thieves.
By developing this security
system more than 10 years
ago, Ögon is the precursor of
this technology.

STOP IMITATIONS

Like many trend setters, the Ögon products have been widely copied despite many patents
and model protections.
Some say that’s the price of fame.
But the first victims of this plague are the consumers. Indeed, those imitations coming from China
are produced without any sanitary or environmental control and are often dangerous for health.
The copies are made with poor quality metal, with high concentration of lead and with toxic paints.
Everything is allowed to keep the price low.
Only the Ögon models provide hardness, reliability and perfect finishing.

Ögon actively fights against this problem together with Customs and in 2014 have ceased and destroyed
more than 80,000 copies in France alone.

Ögon was chosen by the Counterfeiting Museum in Paris to be the symbol of this new phenomena :
all good products are copied and not only the luxury brands.
