PREFACE

Alhamdulillah gratitude to Allah SWT the writer says that with the blessing and grace finally I can
finish the project entitled "Teaching Material English for Practical Use Procedure Text (Recipe )".

I would like to thank to all those involved in the making of this project report. I also thank to
Mrs.Yuvita, M.Pd. as a lecturer who has taugh this lesson and shared many knowledge so I can fulfill this
project report.

This Teaching material discusses about The Procedure Text related to the students real problem
on their daily life. By learning this topic, the students will have an awarness that reading and
comprehending procedure text recipe is very important.

Hopefully, this project report can benefit and inspire the readers.

1. Short Description
Do you like cooking? Cooking is something that usually we do every day, especially for
woman. Cooking can be enjoyable activity if we like it but there are some people lazy
to cook or even afraid because they cannot make delicious food. To help them, people
who cannot cook can see recipes. Recipes are very helpful. When we want to make
delicious food, we need recipe because there are steps that can lead us to do it. And
recipe is one of the example of procedure text. In English teaching learning, procedure
text is one of the material that should be thought to the students to enrich their
reading, listening, writing and speaking skill. So while they learn how to make recipe
and cooking, they also learn reading, listening, Speaking and writing skill..

2. Relevance
Then, what is procedure text actually? Another example is book instruction. When you
buy a new TV or a new phone cell, there must be a book instruction in the box. Book
instruction is also one of the examples of procedure text. When you want to download
something from the internet, there are steps before we do that. Those steps are also
procedure text. Then, what is procedure text actually? Do you have favorite food?
Have you ever cook it by yourself? this module will help you much to deep in your
comprehension about procedure text as well as to dig your creativity in creating a
recipe, both written or spoken

There are three learning activity in this module namely Introduction, Main section, and
Closing.
 Introductions is an activity that introduces the topic about building background
knowledge of procedure text.
 Main Section is an activity that leads readers to observe and study about
procedure text
 Closing section that expects the readers to make summary of material and make
reflection, then do formative test as an exercise after doing each activity

How To Make Ice Lemon Tea
Ingredients:

 1 bag of Teabag
 2 pieces of Lemon Orange
 2 tsp of sugar
 6 Ice Cubes
 50 ml of hot water
 150 ml of cold water
Steps:
1. Brewed Tea bag in 50 ml of hot water.
2. Add sugar, and then stir until evenly distributed.
3. Squeeze the lemon. Then, pour lemon juice into the tea.
4. Add ice cubes and add 150 ml of cold water.
5. Stir until the lemon juice mixes with the tea.
6. Add lemon slices as decoration.
7. Ice Lemon Tea is ready to be served.

leaf, and kaffir lime leaf on top. (6) fold into a parcel , securing the ends with
toothpicks.
4. (7) cut over charcoal or sear in (8) grill for about 10 minutes on each side, until the
leaf edges are getting charred .

 Recipe and other text about instruction to do something is called procedure text.
The purpose of this text is to get the best result, to avoid damage, accident, and
waste.

 The structure of procedure text is rhe goal of the text (for example : how to make an
omelette, how to repair the flat tyre, etc), tools ( for example : chopping board,
knife, scissors, threads, etc), and step or instructions (for example : first, break the
eggs into a mixing bowl ; thread the needle, etc.) In a recipe, there is ingredients ( for
example : 3 eggs, 1 tbsp sugar, etc)

 In procedure text, you often use connectors such as firstly, next, in the end, etc. You
also use imperative sentence, for example don’t dry the batik cloth under the sun, or
fry the chicken in the frying pan

How to Make Bregedel Tempe

The ingredients:
 150 g tempe
 1 tablespoon flour
 1 egg
 1 spoon Royco
 1 cup vegetable oil for frying

Here are the instructions:
1. Mash the tempe with a fork.
2. Put the mashed tempe in a bowl and mix with the flour and Royco, followed by an egg.
3. Shape the tempe into the size of a golf ball and flatten a little with a fork.
4. Heat the vegetable oil in a medium flame. When the oil is hot, drop the tempe into the oil, five or
