The Summer Litigation Program (1st STEP) is an integrated summer litigation curriculum for students after their first year of law school. Experienced faculty, judges, and practitioners lead 1st STEP law students in advanced trial advocacy training at the earliest opportunity in their legal studies. This selective, innovative, 9-week summer program, offers a series of integrated specialized courses including Evidence and Trial Advocacy, all specifically designed to improve student litigation and presentation skills. The program also includes three uniquely designed Litigation Center courses: Evidence in the Courtroom, Presentation and Persuasion Skills, and Effective Motions Writing and Advocacy. This intensive litigation training program includes 11 units, allowing students greater freedom and a competitive advantage to participate in fall employment, on the National Trial Team or Moot Court Board, in GGU on-site clinics, externship and internship programs, as well as in other GGU litigation programs during the fall semester. The 1st STEP program begins the last week of May with a full trial, and concludes in late July with a second full trial.
