Virtual and Augmented Reality

New technology is everywhere. It can help you get to where you need on

time, manage your schedule, and let you keep in touch wherever you go. Technology
can also help entertain you. Virtual Reality is a cool new way to see and go places
without really going there. When you put the goggles on your face, you can see close
up underwater videos while sitting on your couch. There are endless pictures, videos
and apps that you can view while on virtual reality. Virtual reality works by showing you
an image and as soon as you move your head it modifies that image to make it look
like you're really there! (virtual-reality-work) Also, 3D audio helps to make it seem a lot
more realistic and it can even make you forget your actual surroundings. Virtual reality
isn’t just used as a fun way entertain yourself. It is also used to help training, medical
procedures, and even psychological therapy to treat disorders like PTSD. (virtual-
reality-work) Virtual Reality might even be able to cause amazing breakthroughs in
medical and science.
Augmented reality is another way that people see things without actually going there.
It's a little different than virtual reality. All it does is take the real world and adds things
to it. For example, pokemon go uses augmented reality to let people see Pokémon's in
their daily life. Many different video games also use augmented reality to make their
games more realistic. Virtual and augmented reality are two different ways of seeing
the world in a new way and provide entertainment and learning for many different
people. https://www.wareable.com/vr/how-does-vr-work-explained

Matched Review

The book Matched was an amazing, Also, I just realized that Matched is a

Watch Where You’re Going!
When my sister and I were little, my dad thought it was funny to swerve the
car side to side when we were the only ones on the road. He mostly did it to
freak my mom out because, she thought he was a terrible driver and he would
crash the car. She would always scream out OH MY GOD! WATCH WHERE YOU'RE
GOING! One time he was swerving and “accidently” got the car up on the curb!
There was also a car behind us who honked their horn soooo loud. My mom
nearly had a heart attack.

The Cake Mishap

Round and round the mixer goes. Grumbling and grumbling my stomach
complains. Finally I just can’t take it anymore. My 4-year old self rips the mixing
bowl off the mixer, sending little chocolate bits flying across the clean, white
kitchen. Then, I feel the sweet taste of raw eggs and cake batter fill my mouth as
I throw my face tongue first into the batter, and I know it was all worth it. I barely
get in those six seconds of goodness before my dad rips the bowl from my
hands, sending even more chocolaty pieces across the room. The last thing I
remember about that day was feeling satisfied with myself for getting the first
piece of cake.

Doughnut Facts: Strange but True

Doughnuts are a delicious, unhealthy sugary treat. Even though the first one was
made over 150 years ago there are probably many things that you don’t know about them.
November 5 has been dedicated to doughnuts and today is known as doughnut appreciation
day. Someone also decided that they liked doughnuts so much that there should be two days
dedicated to these sugary treats. So, June 7th is also National Doughnut Day. Did you know
that Americans eat around 10 billion doughnuts a year, no wonder we have two whole days
dedicated to them. Also, there are two different ways to spell doughnut. Donut and doughnut
are considered acceptable spellings. Even though in the dictionary it is spelled doughnut.
Donut is just a shortened version of doughnut and was made popular by Dunkin Doughnuts in
the late 1900s. Speaking of Dunkin Doughnuts did you know that they were once called Open
Kettle, but changed their name in 1950 because, people were apparently mislead by the
name and didn’t realize they sold doughnuts. Another weird fact is that doughnuts were
called olykoeks when they first came to America. Olykoeks means oily cakes in Dutch. These
wonderful sugary items were actually not supposed to be invented and happened on accident
by a cow kicking over a pot of oil into a mixture of pastry.

Homemade Chocolate Chip Muffins

Ingredients
2 eggs
2.5 cups flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup sugar
.5 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. vanilla
.5 cup applesauce
1 cup milk
1 cup chocolate chips

Importance
This recipe is special to me and my family because, whenever it's anyone in my
family's birthday or a big holiday my sister and I always make these muffins for
them and the rest of the family. We found this recipe online and it was just a
standard muffin recipe. Then we added chocolate chips to it, because everyone
on my family loves chocolate. Also, my mom and Grandpa can’t eat butter so, my
sister and I also decided to use applesauce instead. Another thing that we added
was brown sugar on the top after they came out of the oven. Whenever my
grandma helps us make them she puts a whole tub of butter on top of hers after
it comes out of the oven, even though she tells us that she on a diet. Everyone in
my family loves to eat these delicious, chocolate chip muffins and looks forward
to eating them on holidays.
