INTRODUCTION
Gout is a common type of arthritis that causes severe pain, swelling,
and stiffness in the joints. The pain usually comes on quickly,
reaching maximum intensity in less than 12 hours and It will usually
affect the joint at the base of the big toe, known as the
metatarsophalangeal joint. It can also cause tophi, kidney stones, or
kidney damage to those who suffer from it. The main cause of gout is
due to a continuous increase in the level of uric acid in the blood and
this occurs from a combination of diet, other health problems and
genetic factors. This gout disease usually occurs in patients aged 30
to 50 years and this condition is usually more prevalent in men than
women who mostly experience it after menopause. Gout is usually
treated with prescription medications given by a doctor. These
medications can help treat the symptoms of a gout attack, prevent
future flares, and reduce the risk of complications such as kidney
stones, tophi and can also help uric acid level in the body.
Asymptomatic hyperuricemia which is where a person has high uric acid levels without
any external symptoms.
Acute gout, where this stage occurs when vein crystals in the joints suddenly cause
acute inflammation and severe pain. This sudden onset is a “flare” and may last
between 3 days and 2 weeks.
Interval or intercritical gout, this warning occurs in between acute gout attacks. As a
person’s gout develops, this interval becomes shorter. Between these periods, vein
crystals may continue to accumulate in the tissue.
Chronic tophaceous gout, is the most debilitating type of gout and can result in
permanent damage to the kidneys and joints. At this stage, people can develop chronic
arthritis and develop tophi in colder areas of the body, such as finger joints. This stage
occurs as a result of an acute gout attack after many years.
Pseudogout, which is the deposition of calcium pyrophosphate. The symptoms are similar
to gout, and the attacks are usually less severe. The main difference between gout and
pseudogout is that the joints are irritated by calcium pyrophosphate crystals rather
than vein crystals. Therefore, Pseudogout require a different treatment than gout.

levels and gives relief to gout attacks.
Garlic- is an amazing herb for curing gout. It helps in removing excess uric acid from the system and reduces
inflammation.
Chicken- is high in protein and Chicken can also help your heart health as many gout sufferers continue to develop
