THE DAR AL-HIKMAH LIBRARY, INTERNATIONAL ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY MALAYSIA
The Dar Al-Hikmah Library, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), was established in 1983.
It has always been recognized as the heart of the University. In the late 1990s, the Library moved
into its own new building at the Gombak Campus in two phases. The Library has five branches
located at different campuses:
• Dar Al-Hikmah Library (Main Library) at Gombak;
• IIiBF ( Institute of Islamic Banking & Finance) Library at the Management Centre Building, also at
Gombak;
• Dar Al-Hikmah Library (Kuantan) at Indera Mahkota Campus, Pahang;
• Dar Al-Hikmah Library (CFS Gambang) at Gambang, Pahang;
• Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas Library at Jalan Duta, Kuala Lumpur; and
• Dar Al-Hikmah Library (Pagoh) at IIUM Hab, Pagoh, Johor.

Dar Al-Hikmah Library The most significant achievement in 2018 was the space transformation plan for Chief Librarian’s
level 2 of the Library. The University management had finally approved of the Message
International Islamic University Malaysia establishment of the Library’s Rest and Refresh Room, which we called the R&R.

FOR 2018
The family of Dar Al-Hikmah Library gathered at Gombak Campus Library
to celebrate Eidul Fitri. The event was jointly organised by Dar
Al-Hikmah Library Gombak Campus and the Kelab Kakitangan
Perpustakaan UIAM (KKPUIAM).

The Library participated in a two-day IIUM Quality Day Exhibition 2018 which
was held on the 11th and 12th of July 2018, IIUM Cultural Centre (ICC), IIUM
Gombak. The exhibition highlighted on the IIUM Repository (IREP) and i-Hikmah,
the Communities of Practice (COP) Web Portal.

IFLA 84th World Library and Information
Congress (IFLA WLIC 2018) delegates on the
30th of August 2018.

Dar Al-Hikmah Library (Gombak) organized Library Open Day on 22nd—23rd November 2018 and has been
conducting its Open Day since 2008 to congratulate, remember and express appreciation to customers. In
conjuction with 2018 Library Open Day, the Dar Al-Hikmah Library invited Hon. Emeritus Prof, Tan Sri Dato’
Dzulkifli Abdul Razak, Rector, International Islamic University Malaysia to launch READ@UNI programme.
READ@UNI is a reading campaign initiative for all Malaysia universities organized by Education Ministry of
Malaysia. The main objective of the program is to make reading habit particularly among
the university students increase in percentage by the year 2020.
