2018 LIBRARY OPEN DAY @ LIBRARY, KUANTAN CAMPUS

Dar Al-Hikmah Library organized Library Open Day on the 19nd – 20th September 2018 at Kuantan Campus
with various activities were held that involves all users for Kuantan Campus.

LIBRARY ACTIVITIES

Research Visibility Roadshow ~ The Information Services Section of the Library had successfully conducted a
series of briefing and hands-on sessions under the Research Visibility Roadshow. This Roadshow was conducted
to assist the IIUM academicians to make their research more visible by having an individual Researcher Profiles
namely in:

• ORCiD
• Google Scholar Profile
• ResearcherID (Web of Science)
• SCOPUS Author ID
In this sessions, the audience was briefed and assisted to create and update their individual Profiles or ID. The
academicians were assisted by the Library’s liaison librarians in each session. This make the session more
personalized as helps are aplenty.

LIBRARY ACTIVITIES

ISTAC-IIUM INAUGURAL LECTURE By the Second Occupant of Al-Ghazali Chair of Islamic Thought: Distinguished
Professor Datuk Dr. Osman Bakar. The event took place on Wednesday (12/11/2018) from 08:15 pm to 10:45 pm
and was officiated by Dr. Maszlee Malik, Minister of Education and attended by 300 people.

Books donation to Uganda ~ A total of 1,720 books was donated to the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) on 10 August

2018. Dr. Siraje from Kulliyyah of Education representing the IUIU to collect the books. The Gifts and Exchange Unit took almost
a month to collect and pack the books into boxes.
This effort is to support International Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) develop their collections in the library. Books donated
are from various subjects including history, Islam, science, technology, business and others.

IIUM Rector’s Visit to SMNA Library ~ Professor Tan Sri Dato Dzulkifli Abdul Razak, Rector of IIUM had visited Syed
Muhammad Naquib al-Attas Library (SMNAL) on the 18th November 2018).

Library Visit to ISTAC Campus ~In conjunction with Dar Al-Hikmah Library Open Day 2018, Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas
Library (SMNAL) has taken the initiative to organize a Library visit to ISTAC Campus. In fact, this visit is one of the mechanisms to
promote the existence of ISTAC especially among the IIUM community. The visit was held on the 30th November 2018 from 9:30 a.m.
- 11:45 a.m. and were attended by 55 participants inclusive of 4 staff and 51 students from Gombak Campus.
