This is in response to a video that was recently circulated froma Kuala Lumpur dance club. In the video, there is a disc jockey (DJ) performernamed Newjeansim who was wearing a Korean monk costume and dressed like amonk,performing in the dance hall with body movements, singing in a chantingstyle, and interacting with the crowd. He performed and stirred up theatmosphere by matching the music rhythm. The Triple Gem is the core of teaching of Buddhism and realisation ofDharma. YBAM opines that it is inappropriate for the impersonation of Sanghamembers, one of the components of Triple Gem, in performances related toBuddhist rituals in the entertainment venues such as dance halls. Underthe Federal Constitution, both parents had equal legal rights in relation tothe guardianship and education of their minor children. Only with mutualagreement between both parents could the religious faith, physical andmental development, and family rights of minor children be fully andproperly safeguarded.Any practice that had allowed the unilateral conversion of minors basedsolely on the consent of one parent was not only clearly unjust, but alsolikely to give rise to family conflicts and social disputes. It was furtherinconsistent with the spirit of the Federal Court’s established rulings and theFederal Constitution.YBAM also emphasised that prosecutorial power fell within theconstitutional jurisdiction independent of the executive authority. This is in response to a video that was recently circulated froma Kuala Lumpur dance club. In the video, there is a disc jockey (DJ) performernamed Newjeansim who was wearing a Korean monk costume and dressed like amonk,performing in the dance hall with body movements, singing in a chantingstyle, and interacting with the crowd. He performed and stirred up theatmosphere by matching the music rhythm. The Triple Gem is the core of teaching of Buddhism and realisation ofDharma. YBAM opines that it is inappropriate for the impersonation of Sanghamembers, one of the components of Triple Gem, in performances related toBuddhist rituals in the entertainment venues such as dance halls.
