+ To give an insight by accurately conveying
the taste, texture, smell, and presentation
of a restaurant's food. You not only
comment on the food but also on the
atmosphere, staff knowledge and
attentiveness, the speed of service, the
general impression of the restaurant or
cafe.
+ Reviews give immediate impact on a
restaurant. Positive reviews can directly
grow your profits while negative reviews
can drive people away for good.

2. Briefly write about the origin/ history
The Malays, being originally fishermen and
living by the sea, found inspiration for the
snack from the nets they used for fishing.
Thus, the name net pancakes aka 'Roti Jala'
emerged. As the name suggested, Net
Pancakes look like laces due to the way it
is made. Net Pancakes has been one of
the most famous tea time snack in
Malaysia.

3. Preparation/ Ingredients
The prime ingredients are simply flour,
eggs, dairy or coconut milk, turmeric
powder and salt. They are mixed with
water to form a runny batter, then
drizzled onto a hot pan in a circular
motion. A special utensil is often used,
resembling a cup with multiple holes,
which creates the "net-like" effect. It
takes a mere few minutes to cook before
it is and then folded into little triangles
and served hot. This snack is often
prepared with love and fresh ingredients.

4. Sensory Description
Traditionally served with warm and
flavourful chicken curry, net pancakes are
just as toothsome as they look. The yellow
coloured net pancakes are pleasantly
appetising. On its own, the pancake tastes
like a soft crepe with hints of turmeric and
coconut milk. Eating them dipped with the
creamy curry, on the other hand, will give
you the perfect combination and it'll leave
you craving for more.

5. Price/ Where to get
The price of this Malaysia traditional
snack is conveniently affordable. It
usually varies from RM3 to RM5
depending on the quantity. After
converted to Won, it will cost around
886.86 to 1478.10 Won. This is a very
traditional dish that is usually
homemade and served fresh at events
such as weddings and festivals. Not only
that, net pancakes are available at food
baazar during Ramadhan.

6. Recommendation
All in all, I would definitely recommend this
exquisite dish especially to my international
friends. They are finger-licking good!
Besides, taking a bite of the net
pancakes would definitely help you
experience a little bit if Malaysia's rich
history and cuisine. It’s an experience
everyone will cherish.
