FOREWORD BY EVENT DIRECTOR

Warmest Greetings!

I would like to take this great opportunity to express my gratitude to all of our honourable guests,
sponsors, participants and audiences for spending your precious time to attend at our humble event.
National Inter Varsity Accounting Quiz (N-IVAQ) is a yearly event organised by MMU Accounting
Club since 2001. It is delightful to note that the excitement and commitments towards this event are
still firm, yet, we hope this year's occasion will be even more successful than the previous year.
Furthermore, it is our honour to have the support and advisory from Malaysian Institute of
Accountant (MIA).

N-IVAQ continues its journey in promoting accounting standards in Malaysia as well as to nurture
progressive enrichment of the students' knowledge in the accounting field. In addition, N-IVAQ
provides an exclusive platform for the accounting students across all the universities and colleges
nationwide to strengthen the relationship, share and exchange their experiences and knowledge
among each other. We also hope to create a conducive environment for the students to perform these
interactive and meaningful activities.

During my preparation throughout this event, I learn something which is “Teamwork is the best ever
investment. If I make 3 and you make 5, together we will not make 8. We will make 15. Leaders
build active teams.” This quote comes from Israelmore Ayivor. This event will not be a successful
without the commitments and efforts from our beloved committees during these few months. Hence,
I sincerely express my appreciation towards their efforts and dedication.

Furthermore, this event would hardly be a success without the support and enlighten throughout the
preparations of the event from our event advisor, Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). Our
sincere gratitude too, to our strategic partner, Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and
Wales (ICAEW), as well as other firms and professional bodies that has also given us with their
generous support.

Most importantly, definitely not forgetting our advisors, lecturers and management of Multimedia
University. The continuous guidance and advices provided gave us a great helping hand throughout
the preparations of the event.

To recapitulate, a million thanks for participating and all the best in the competition and your future
endeavour!

FOREWORD BY MMU PRESIDENT

Assalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh and Warmest Greetings to everyone.

First and foremost, I am pleased to see the enthusiasm and dedication of MMU Accounting Club in
upholding this prestigious event for almost 2 decades and this year we are welcoming the 20th
National Inter-Varsity Accounting Quiz 2022. I am glad that this event has become one of the longest
standing university events which aspires young and skilled accountants to test their capabilities and
knowledge at a national level.

MMU Accounting Club have talented students who are capable and reliable to successfully organise
this event and I am proud to acknowledge their relentless committees in making the event another
notable avenue for the fraternities of the both the Accounting Club and Multimedia University as a
whole.

I would like to extend my warmest congratulation to the club and the organising committee for their
praiseworthy job. It is heartening to be receiving overwhelming support from colleges and
universities around Malaysia and this clearly shows a sign of a healthy relationship amongst the
accounting students. Their eagerness’ in enhancing and strengthening the bonds and capabilities are
to be appreciated.

Apart from being an interestingly mind-boggling competition in which the participants compete and
share their interpersonal skills and accounting knowledge, I hope this 20th National-IVAQ 2022 will
provide sufficient networking that enables participants to enrich their accounting knowledge. As
such, the accounting industry can assure the quality of our future accountants and it will then promote
more professional development and bode well for the future and advancement of accounting field in
Malaysia.

Lastly, I would like to grab this opportunity to show my uttermost gratitude to the Malaysian Institute
of Accountants (MIA) as well as, to our strategic partner, Institute of Chartered Accountants in

ACCOUNTING CLUB

The Accounting Club was established since 2001. Advisors of Accounting
Club for current year are Dr. Akhma Adlin Khalid, Mdm. Maliza Mohd Nor,
Mdm. Nurbaiti Shafee and Mdm. Noridayu Binti Abdullah Sani.

Our past president, Mr. Ng Eng Kiat, mooted the idea of the Inter-Varsity
Accounting Club in an effort to popularise the Club and to serve as a platform
to upgrade members’ skills, knowledge and learning. This is the twentieth
consecutive year the club is organizing this event. It is remarkable for
successfully restructure the event to national level with the title of National
Inter-Varsity Accounting Quiz (National IVAQ).

The accounting club is open to the entire Alpha Management (Pre-University
Management) students and Accounting students in MMU with the purpose of
providing guidance to members and exposing them to the rigors of the
accounting profession.

Among its other objectives are:

 To promote closer unity, friendship, intellectual and social advancement
among members.

 To uphold high moral, ethical and professional standing among
members.

 To provide forum for students to discuss career opportunities within the
Accounting Fraternity, especially with MIA.

 To inform students about upcoming accounting-related activities
organized by various professional bodies, such as essay writing
competition, seminars, sports events, etc.

 To organise career talks given by the Big 4 Accounting Firms.
 To forgo collaboration with Accounting Clubs from the local

universities and institution of higher education.

MALAYSIAN INSTITUTE OF ACCOUNTANTS

Established under the Accountants Act 1967, MIA is the national accountancy
body that regulates, develops, supports, and enhances the integrity, status, and
interests of the profession in Malaysia. MIA accords the Chartered Accountant
Malaysia or C.A (M) designation to a professional in accountancy, business
