Kennedy Fitness & Wellness Difference

Use the
F.I.T.T. Principle
to Improve
Your Workouts

When you put effort into increasing
physical activity, you want results!
Whether you are a beginner or have a
lot of experience, understanding the
F.I.T.T. principle will help you build your
physical activity program and improve
your health. F.I.T.T. stands for frequency,
intensity, time and type of exercise.

Frequency: how often you plan to

exercise. This can depend on a variety
of factors, such as type of workout,
how hard you’re working, fitness level
and your goals.

Intensity: how hard you work during

exercise. This can determine how fast
or far you should run, how many reps
you should do, and/or how heavy your
resistance should be.

Time: how long you exercise during

each session. This will typically
depend on your fitness level and
what type of workout you are doing.

Type: what kind of exercise you

do. If you want to improve your
cardiovascular fitness, then exercises
like walking, jogging and aerobics
are very effective. To improve your
muscular strength, try free weights,
machine weights and/or body weight
exercises, like push-ups, dips and
squats.

The personal trainers at Kennedy
Fitness & Wellness will help you
create your very own F.I.T.T. exercise
program, allowing you to achieve
maximum results. Visit one of our
seven Kennedy Fitness & Wellness
locations, or visit kennedyfitness.org
