Epic Go Live: The Importance of Successful Patient Movement

In preparation for our Epic Go-Live on September 28th, Jefferson Health NJ clinical and
operations staff recently learned how easily they would transfer patients with the new
system; they attended special Patient Movement Day events at our three hospitals — in
Cherry Hill, Stratford, and Washington Township — as well as at the Jefferson Health Care
Center.

The Epic@Jeff Patient Movement Team demonstrated the importance of “user hand-off” in
the Epic system — when a patient needs to be transferred from one department/unit to
another during a hospital stay or appointment. Attendees also learned how to translate their
current workflows in Epic.

To learn more about the tracking and moving workflow process, visit the Patient Movement
Matrix on Confluence. The Matrix will also be available on your Learning home dashboard
when Epic “goes live.”
