MESSAGE
As a conscious and responsible member of the society, Berger has been a pioneer to provide these creative minds with the right
appreciation, by initiating the prestigious Berger Young Painters’ Art Competition (BYPAC). Since 1996, Berger has been relentlessly
working towards bringing artists under the spotlight through this competition.
One big achievement out of this annual competition is the enthusiasm it has created in the young artist community even in the remote
corners of the nation. Moreover, a continued enhancement in the relevance of themes, form, style, subtleness and maturity has
become evident each year. Artists are keen to portray our nation’s hopes, dreams and aspirations. Over the years, BYPAC has also
rendered tributes to the eminent veteran artists who have dedicated their lives for the passion of art and have become exemplaries
for the younger generation.
On behalf of Berger, I express gratitude to the artist community of Bangladesh, who have supported and facilitated us every year to
successfully conduct this competition. Heartiest congratulations to this year’s winners who have brilliantly captured in their canvases
the grave challenges faced by individuals and society in recent times. The young artists of our country have once again proven how
important it is to keep our spirits up in these trying times.

One of the most sought after skills in the upcoming decades will be creativity. 75% of today's jobs will be eliminated with the fourth
industrial revolution technologies such as AI. Thus, it will be increasingly important that we nurture and cultivate creativity amongst
our youth who can also shape our cultural identity through art. We are proud to support this annual celebration of our country's
finest artists.

27th BYPAC 2022
The world has come a long way in the development of technology. Today, people are
contemplating establishment of living facilities in Mars, utilizing advancement in science.
Life has undoubtedly become bright and prosperous. But I am very worried about our
human values and mentality of our society. Are we becoming purer and more human with
the development of civilization? Or losing humanity and values? I grew up in Dhaka city
since childhood. I saw the city change day by day. Unplanned skyscrapers have been
raised here and there. Through the small window of my home, I see the concrete jungle
instead of the big sky. Gradually, we are turning into human machines. In my imagination,
the whole city is full of monstrous images of vultures and snakes. Along with man, the
Sun has also become a machine. The treeless city is engulfed by pollution, therefore no
birds appear, no flowers bloom. A pigeon with a straw in its beak rounds in search of a
cage. My sketching, ‘Destruction-1’, has been done with Aquatint media.

Impact of Climate Change-1 2WINNER
As an artist, I always try to improve myself and my work. I try to paint by observing 27th BYPAC 2022
myself, the events and the environment around me and using the accumulated
experience. Similarly, through my work on Impact of Climate Change-1, I have tried to
portray an atmosphere of changes in nature due to drought in our country every year.

3WINNER Game of Life
27th BYPAC 2022
People move with the rhythm of time. They easily forget the ultimate truth of this cycle
under the illusion of everyday life. We lost our human senses due to being allured by
wealth and pride. But insects to animals, each and every creature, have to perish on the
earth. The body will be devoured by insects. One day, the king’s transient reign will be
over. So, why the vanity? Only death is the ultimate truth of life. At the end, the mortal
remains will be reduced to dust.
SIMA MONDAL
Mingled 4WINNER
The artwork “Mingled” is made from a very sentimental approach. It can be described 27th BYPAC 2022
both in personal or expressive way. The artwork depicts myself and another person with
whom I have a strong link of heart and soul and I'm merging with him. It can also reflect
the relationship that I have with nature, any other person and all the things in the world.
Overall, the person can be a symbol for all those things that I share my heart with.

5WINNER At the End
27th BYPAC 2022
Nature, the biggest artist. Every season, nature paints a new painting, using all of its
elements. Though being a part of this painting, we are destroying the nature to paint our
own individual paintings. Our actions are destroying the nature. In recent years, nature is
showing its wrath and giving alerts to rethink about our actions. To save the biggest
canvas (Earth), we should rethink and reset our actions.
ASIF AL NUR
Journey by Life-2 6WINNER
In this artwork, I have captured the time that we are passing amidst hundreds of 27th BYPAC 2022
activities. I have intertwined all the truths that I uphold with the nature that surround me.
In my realm, I can always observe the nature – the trees and birds. I believe that there is
a bond between human and nature, which will ultimately triumph.
