PTSI Parent Handbook

PTSI Parent Handbook

PTSI PARENT HANDBOOK

Dear Parents,

PTSI Parent Handbook is provided with the simple intention to ensure smooth operation and provide 100%
clarity to manage communication for a better learning environment for your child in PTSI Centre.

It is mutually agreed that PTSI Parent Handbook shall be kept strictly private and confidential and shall not
be disclosed to any person.

Kindly spend a little of your time to read, agree and accept the below information. Should you need further
clarification, please feel free to contact PTSI Careline @ 010-2082958. Thank you.

PTSI INTAKE PERIOD

 PTSI will start new intake in the month of November every year except for Primary 1 and Secondary
1 students in the month of January. PTSI has 3 teaching terms which are:
Term 1 : November – February
Term 2 : March – June
Term 3 : July – October

 Why PTSI starts teaching new syllabus in the month of November? We strongly encourage
students to attend classes earlier for their early preparation. Example, if your child is in Primary 4 this
year and final year end completed in the month of October, PTSI will commence teaching of Primary
5 syllabus in November for 6 weeks. 2 weeks break will be given in the month of December for all.

This is important to follow PTSI teaching concept: Students will be on good learning mode, as we do
not want to lose the study momentum of the students after year end final exam.

Due to many holidays in between period, Nov/Dec will act as a very important period to start early
preparation in order to have sufficient time for them to be more aware what’s they are going to learn
in the following year. When students are back in school in January the following year, they will be able
to absorb faster compare to other students, and able to increase concentration in class and handling
of homework given.
Special clause: Due to parent’s uncertainty of school assignment and decision in new learning year
for child, PTSI Primary 1 and Secondary 1 Intake starts mid-of every January of the year.

 What if your child join late during the new term intake? Students will miss detail class teaching
and may require to go through catch-up class arrangements with additional fees. Normally catch up
session arrangement varies between 30 mins to 1.5 hours session depends on teacher and classroom
availability. Number of sessions will be determined by principal or subject teacher.

 Types of tuition classes provided under PTSI:
a) Regular Tuition (RT) – group classes run in PTSI tuition centre with fixed schedule.
b) Private Tuition (PT) – 1 to 1 or 1 to 2 classes run in PTSI tuition centre.
c) Coaching / Catch-Up (CT / CUT) – special classes arrange for new students to catch up
syllabus or weak students under additional coaching.
d) Home Tuition (HT) – PTSI is assigning teacher to student premise which parent to ensure the
proper learning provided during the conduct of lesson.

Some parents may request for exam boosting ie. 3 to 4 lessons coaching based on specific exam
scope given. Therefore fees will be varies under each specific type of tuition classes, please refer to
PTSI Careline for details.
