My Future Career PowerPoint

You will be making a PowerPoint Presentation over what career you would like to be doing after
college or high school. The purpose of this PowerPoint is inform your audience on what you will be
required to do in order to obtain this career. You will also be trying to convince your audience of why this
career is great and inform them on some facts about the job.

First you need to research different occupations, use the following websites: http://www.bls.gov/ooh/
and https://collegegrad.com/

You will be presenting these in front of the class. Here are the requirements of what should be in your
PowerPoint:

1. You need to insert a total of 3 slides. (To insert slides, click on the “New Slide” button.)
 First Slide:
a. Make the Slide Layout “Title Slide”
b. Type your name in the “Click to add title” Textbox.
c. Type your career choice title in the “Click to add subtitle” Textbox.
 Second Slide:
a. Choose any Slide Layout that you would like.
b. Make a title that says “Education and Training”
c. In a Textbox you need to describe the education/training requirements for your career.
This needs to be at least 5 sentences long! (You are allowed to do bullets if you
would like)
 Do you have to have a high school diploma and or a college degree?
 Do you have to go through any training programs?
 Do you continuously have to go to school for your career?

 Third Slide:
a. Make the Slide Layout “Title and Content”
b. Type “Salary and Opportunity to Advance” in the “Click to add Title” textbox
c. In a Textbox you need to answer the following questions on individual bullets
 What is the starting salary for your career or what is the starting hourly wage for
your career?
 Can you move up and eventually get paid more?

2. Change your PowerPoint’s Theme:
a. Click on the “Design” Tab  Then select any of the Themes that are on the “Theme”
Tab that you would like to have. You should see your PowerPoint Theme change.
 You need to change one thing on your Theme Design, make sure it is clearly
noticeable. (Example: font size, color, background color, text box fill color, etc…)

3. Insert another Word Art somewhere on your PowerPoint. This WordArt needs to have a 3-D &
Bevel Effect to it.

4. You need to add 2 more slides under your Third Slide, both of these should be “Title and Content”
Layout.
 Fourth Slide:
a. You need to insert a video into your PowerPoint. You can do this by recording your
own video of you using the website or app, inserting one from clipart, or getting one
from a website. (This video needs to represent YOUR CAREER)
 Click on the “Insert” Tab Click on the “Video” Button

b. Under the Video add a text box. Then write in your textbox a 1 sentence or
more description of what this video is over.

 Fifth Slide:
a. You need to record your own audio. Click on “Insert” Tab  Click on the “Audio”
Button. This Audio needs to be you answering the following questions:
 How fast or slow will this occupation grow?
 What does the future of this occupation look like?
b. You need to change your audio icon’s picture. To do so you need to:
 Right click on your sound iconclick on “Change Picture”Change your
picture to something of your choice, this should go along with your career.

5. Save this as “My Future Career” to your OneDrive.
