Arff! Arff! Who am I? I love to dig
and I’m kind of annoying because I
bark a lot. But if you like small,
energetic dogs I’m the right fit for
you. If you guessed Jack Russell
Terrier you are correct.

Appearance 3

Jack Russells appearance is very
interesting. Jack Russells should weigh 6-12
pounds and be about as tall as a ruler. They are
considered to be a small dog and when they are
fully grown they are 10-15 inches tall. Their tail
is about four inches long.

There is three types of fur a Jack Russell
could have: a rough coat, a broken coat, a or a
smooth coat. Their coat is mainly white with
black or brown spots.

Taking care of a Jack Russell can be
challenging. Jack Russell should get their nails
clipped every 1-2 weeks. You must make sure you
spay or neuter them. They go to the vet for
regular check ups. Terriers shed hair all year long.
So you must make sure that you groom them at
least once a week. They are active each day and
need walks or to run at the dog park.

Jack Russell’s are on TV! A Jack Russell
named Eddie played a dog named Moose on a
popular TV show Frasier. Another famous
Jack Russell appeared in an animated show
based of the books Robin Hood.

A Jack Russells history is interesting.
Jack Russells were breed in England by a
person named John Russell, known as Jack
Russell. John loved to fox hunt so he breed his
dog Trump to fox hunt. Trump was the perfect
size to fit in a fox burrows. He was also the
perfect color so hunters wouldn’t mistake him
for a fox.

These dogs are very small but they can
run really fast. I know because I have one. My
Jack Russells name is Zoey she makes a
perfect pet. In fact, if you are interested in
