HIGHLIGHTED SORORITY SERVICE INITIATIVES
SOLES4SOULS
Alpha Kappa Alpha partners with Soles4Souls to collect 500,000 pairs of gently-worn shoes that are
shipped to destinations around the world populated with people of color as a part of the sorority’s Global
Impact target which focuses on programming designed to enhance its international footprint.
LIONS CLUB INTERNATIONAL
Chapters participate in eyeglass initiatives designed to prevent blindness, help restore eyesight, and
improve eye health and eye care for millions of people around the world by donating used eyeglasses in
partnership with local Lions Clubs.
COLLEGE ADMISSIONS PROGRAM - #CAP
Chapters deliver targeted approaches to help students successfully navigate the challenge of applying to
colleges and universities, preparing for the ACT and SAT, writing compelling personal statements,
identifying scholarships and other financial aid, and compiling a portfolio to track college admission
results.
CARE FOR CAREGIVERS
Places emphasis on taking care of those who take care of others and the need for caregivers to practice
preventive healthcare as well as self-care behavior to eliminate the vulnerabilities and risks associated
with the stress of caregiving.
PILLOWCASE PROJECT
Chapters continue to use pillowcases to make dresses for little girls and expand the sorority’s efforts to
include shirts for little boys. The pillowcase dresses and shirts are sent to Haiti to provide clothing for
children in need.
NUTRITION AND WELLNESS
We emphasize healthy lifestyles, including prenatal, childhood, adult, and senior nutrition programs.
Chapters partner with local nutritionists and dietitians to design healthy eating plans and safe diets for
longer, healthier living.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Alpha Kappa Alpha chapters in the North Atlantic Region have contributed millions of dollars in
scholarships to deserving college bound students and specifically support a myriad of
Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) across the U.S.

Dear North Atlantic Region Soror,
I look forward to welcoming you to the 91st North Atlantic Regional Conference (NARC) to be held from April
21-24, 2022. Our planning committees are working hard to provide you with a memorable experience in
Baltimore, MD filled with opportunities to learn and connect with sorors throughout the region.
We are committed to executing a successful NARC with focused financial planning and conference
management utilizing unique approaches designed for large scaled conferences. As in the past, we will work
to keep our expenses low by seeking opportunities to underwrite workshops, forums, public meetings as well
as NAR community service initiatives. One of the ways we will do this is by soliciting sponsorships from
Corporate and Individual donors.

Diamond Pearl, Golden, Silver Luncheon
Dear Notable North Atlantic Region Chapter Basilei and Sorors:
The Notable North Atlantic Regional Director, Soror Mary Bentley LaMar, and Cluster I Sorors
cordially invite you to join us in honoring our Diamond, Pearl, Golden and Silver Sorors initiated in
1947, 1957, 1972 and 1997, respectively at the 91st North Atlantic Regional Conference in Baltimore,
Maryland.
The DPGS Luncheon Committee is planning an exciting and memorable celebration. The committee is
preparing to honor our savvy sorors in the fashion in which they have come to deserve, pink carpet
and all. The stage set, the runway decked out and the spotlight shinning bright, can you see it all? In
Pearlfect Harmony, a Diamond, Pearl, Golden, Silver Celebration is awaiting. During this celebratory
luncheon on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 11:30 AM at the Baltimore Convention Center the committee has
pulled out all of the stops, assigned tables for chapters on a first request first served basis, and a
reserved section for the Honorees.
To help celebrate this momentous occasion family and friends may purchase tickets for this event only
if they are registered guests for the conference. Tickets for guests must be purchased at the time of
registration for NARC 2022.

The Ivy Beyond the Wall Ceremony (IBTW) will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2022. The
purpose of the ceremony is to honor Sorors within the North Atlantic Region who have
become Ivies Beyond the Wall since 2021 North Atlantic Regional Conference. This ritual
is a lasting tribute to our beloved Sorors and has always been one of reference and
dignity. Only properly attired Sorors participate in this ritual.
Information Submission IBTW Ceremony
Only Chapter Basilei may submit names to be recognized during the Ivy Beyond the Wall
Ceremony. If a deceased Soror is not affiliated with a chapter, her information must be
verified and submitted to the Ivy Beyond the Wall Committee by a North Atlantic Region
Chapter Basileus. Basilei of the Graduate and Undergraduate Chapter can submit
information via https://form.jotform.com/213396256833159. Information must be
submitted no later than March 28, 2022 for the names to be included in the Ivy Beyond
the Wall Program at the 2022 North Atlantic Regional Conference.
Sorors who become Ivy Beyond the Wall after March 28 please email the information to
be included in the video tribute.
RITUAL ATTIRE
Sorors must wear uninterrupted white dress suit or dress (no embellishments or
adornments), white or flesh-tone hosiery, and white shoes. Pumps, flats, peep-toe shoes
are acceptable. Please note: hats, sleeveless dresses or tops, pants and paint suits,
sandals, and flip-flop are not allowed.
Graduate Advisors are asked to review the dress code for this ritual with their
Undergraduate Sorors.

Our illustrious North Atlantic Regional Director, Soror Mary Bentley LaMar, and the Cluster I
Sorors of the Notable Atlantic Region invite you to join us for an evening of fun.
This event will be an evening of entertainment as we watch teams participate in the Step, Stoll
and Singsational competition followed by an After-party. We are inviting North Atlantic Region
chapters, local Pan Hellenic Council teams and community or church teams to register their
groups to participate in the Notable North Atlantic Regional Conference Step, Stroll and
SINGsational competition.

Participating team members must be active financial members of an undergraduate or graduate
chapter of a fraternity or sororities within the National Pan-Hellenic Council; or active members of a
community or church team. Teams will be informed with a follow-up email on instructions and
directions for the show. The performance order will be provided the day of the performance.
All performing organizations must submit registration forms and team rosters. All team members
must check in at the NARC office (Baltimore Convention Center) no later than 6:00 pm on Friday,
April 22, 2022.
A team (step or stroll) can have a maximum of ten (10) performers. but no less than a minimum of
two (2) members performing. All music must be submitted via email by Sunday, April 3. 2022 at
[email protected].
Please bring a copy of your music on a flash drive just in case there are any unforeseen
circumstances each stroll team will have up to seven (7) minutes to perform. Each team will be
timed once your organization is called and the total number of performers reaches the performance
floor. Points will be deducted for performances that pass the allotted time limit.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
All performing teams who are competing should have no more than two (2) helpers and the group
(team & helpers) will not be assessed a ticket fee to enter the Step Show and After-Party event. All
teams must register using the following JotForm link https://form.jotform.com/213546058122147
1. Participants will be eligible to compete as long as they are financial members of an
undergraduate or graduate (or combined) chapters of the National PanHellenic Council
(NPHC). Team members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.® shall also refer to the North
Atlantic Region Step & Stoll guidelines outlined in the members only section of the North
Atlantic Region website.
2. During the show any obscenity, nudity, violence, degrading of any organizations. explicit or
lewd acts. EXCESSIVE gyrations. humping the floor. eating pie etc. and the use of vulgarity
will result in point deductions OR team disqualification. If a team member is found to be
disruptive, disrespectful, or expressly unprofessional the team will be disqualified. This will
include any excessive profanity. nudity. vulgar or disrespectful behavior. on or off the stage
to any team member or official.
3. TIME LIMIT:
a. SINGSATIONAL: The performance is limited to a minimum of three (3) minutes and
a maximum of five (5) minutes. Two (2) points for each additional minute over the
time limit will be deducted from the organization's overall score.
b. STROLL: The show is limited to a minimum of three (3) minutes and a maximum of
seven (7) minutes. Two (2) points for each additional minute over the time limit will
be deducted from the organization's overall score.
c. STEP: The show is limited to a minimum of five (5) minutes and a maximum of
seven (7) minutes. Two (2) points for each additional minute over the time limit will
be deducted from the organization's overall score.
4. All participants are required to check in at the "NARC" office (Baltimore Convention Center)
between 5:00-6:00 pm.
a. The order of the acts will be decided upon by the event chairman. Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority. Inc.
b. Beginning at 5:00 pm. based upon the order of arrival. each team will be allotted 15
minutes of stage preparation beginning at 5:30 pm.
c. If the team does not arrive by the last time slot of 7:30 pm. they will not be afforded a
run though on the stage.
5. Each act is allowed to have no more than two (2) persons designated to handle music and
props for their show. These persons must be available as the group performs. to set the
stage and cue sound personnel. Music must be CLEAN (no profanity) and prepared by
performance time. The use of profanity during any segment of the performance. including
music. is strictly prohibited. and means immediate disqualification.
6. If lighting cues vary during the show each team should also have a stage/lighting
coordinator.

7. The beginning of the show is deemed as the first movement. word. or song from the
performing organization. At the moment in which the first action is displayed the clock will
start.
8. The use(s) of screens. floor shows. fog machines. fire or fireworks (pyrotechnics). or special
lighting is not allowed for the performances. Do not use helium balloons. or confetti in the
step show. All props and special requirements must be approved by the committee, please
email [email protected].
9. Anyone found attempting to sneak people, alcohol, drugs, or other contraband into the show
will be immediately disqualified from the competition and will be subject to arrest.
10. Baby oil, water, other liquids and food will NOT be permitted on stage.
11. All participants must present a valid picture ID to enter the performance facility. Other
members of your organization that are not performing may not be backstage or on stage at
any time during the show and must purchase a ticket for entry. All tickets can be purchased

POINTS REDUCTION AND DISQUALIFICATIONS
1. Deductions/Disqualifications
a. For every minute the team exceeds the maximum time limit. it will result in a two (2)
point reduction per minute and will be reduced from the final score.
b. Use of foul language. music. or sexually explicit physical gestures (i.e., vulgarity)
will result in point deductions and/or disqualification.
c. Disqualifications: Inappropriate content (nudity. fighting. sexually offensive. etc.)
Deductions will only be made if a majority of the judges feels the organization has
committed a violation. Please keep in mind. the audience that will be attending this
performance will include seasoned audience members. children. VIPs. etc.). For
this reason. groups are asked to refrain from profanity in the music selection and
alluding to the use of alcohol and/or drugs. Groups whose music contains sexually
explicit language will be subject to penalty and/or disqualification.
d. The Regional Director reserves the right to disqualify a team for any of the reasons
above.
2. Music
