Initiation was held at the fabulous Richfield
Coliseum. The members and initiates were treated
to an exciting Cleveland Cavalier versus Detroit
Pistons basketball game. The "Phi team" enjoyed
meeting the Cavalier coaching staff and players.
They were also treated to an excellent post-game
buffet dinner.
Phi also participated in _the Longhorn Rodeo
which was also held at the Coliseum. An
enthusiastic group of Phi members cheered the
team of Steve Karr, Rick Bryson, and Joni Jones on
to victory in the Charity Chuck Wagon Pull. The
victory brought 500 "buck-a-roos" into the old
Phi treasury (and that ain't peanuts).
Phi closed out the year with the annual Spring
Formal and spring picnic.
First, the Phi Formal, was simply spectacular. This
year, held at the fabulous Tangier in Akron, Ohio,
clinicians, residents, guests, and Phi members alike,
were all treated to a wonderful time.
The food was superb, the band excellent and the
night romantic - to say the least! Evelyn Wright and
Finesse got things really hopping with their
magnificent arrangement of ballads and top 40 hits.
It was a night which saw many outstanding Phi
members recognized for their outstanding efforts
throughout the year.
Spring Picnic is always a fun time to soak up the
sun, enjoy a dog or burg and engage in some
friendly conversation with both new and departing
members of Phi. To our seniors we bid farewell and
good luck, and to our new blood, we know you are
up to the challenges which lie ahead.
