Teacher of the Year-Allan Spencer, D.P.M .
Our years at O.C.P.M. have been years that wi ll
determine, to a great extent, the level of professional
success we will experience as practitioners of podiatric
medicine. Playing a significant role in preparing the
Class of 1975 to acquire the knowledge and assume
the freedom and responsibilities that accompany being
a member of a health profession team is Allan Spen-
cer, D.P.M. ~
Dr. Spencer has been at O.C.P.M. since entering as a
student following graduation from Grove City College
in Pennsylvania in September, 1954. During that time
he has experienced the arrival and departure of many
classes of students. In viewing the senior class, he sees
the improved quality of student and person who has
chosen to enter the profession. He claims to have
found a true sense of enjoyment in teaching us and
we can only reciprocate by reaffirming what we have
perhaps known since the beginning of our days at
O.C.P.M. . . . that Dr. Spencer was generous with his
time and patience and his educational experience .. .
and that he will feel a special aura of success when
we, the Class of 1975, achieve our own level of the
ultimate achievement ... what ever it may be.

Phi Alpha Pi, the oldest of all professional frater-
nities, was founded in 1919 under the direction of Dr.
William Stickel. Our chapter, Epsilon, was founded
four years later. Since its inception, the goal of Phi has
been to enhance each members' knowledge of podiat-
ric medicine while working together in a common
brotherhood .
Phi independently operates two complete clinical
facilities from the allocations of the fraternity's budget.
At the Salvation Army Harbor Light Podiatric Clinic,
the fraternity maintains a facility that includes surgical
suites, and an examination and diagnosis room , an x-
ray room, a laboratory, and a physician 's consultation
room. In addition, an orthopedics lab was constructed
this past year. At the Convent of Franciscan Nuns, Phi
has continued to render excellent podiatric care to the
nuns.
A very special thanks to Rocco J. Palermo, D .P.M .,
whose leadership and guidance smoothed out any
problems that Phi encountered.
To my fellow seniors, I wish luck and success in the
future. To the underclassmen, I hope you are able to
continue on with the spirit of brotherhood that has
been greatly strengthened this year.

Kappa Tau Epsilon
Since its inception on March 8, 1932, the organiza-
tion then known as the Chiropody Club, has been
dedicated to the idea of fostering scientific knowledge,
frien dship between the members of the fraternity and
the promotion of the intellectual interest of the broth-
erhood.
Nine ambitious men met at the Green Gables, with
the idea setting up a local, nonsectarian, independent
organi zation. It was their desire to be represented by
"the best at the Ohio College of Chiropody", that
began the tradition which still stands among the Kap-
pas of today. With the help of the late Dr. Harmolin,
later that year the fraternity was formally founded.
Since then , there have been lean and fat years in
membersh ip, but always the same quality in its mem-
bers and selectiveness in its program. This past year
has seen the fraternity more active and purposeful
than ever before.
Our e ducational program is in the form of guest
lectures, demonstrations and on the spot instruction in
patient care and technique.
A well- balanced social program was launched begin-
ning wit h the 1953 Senior Farewell Ball and Spring
Social, w hich has been a constant highlight of the
fraternity's academic year ever since.
The fraternity is once again proud to be represented
by the men of the graduating Class of 1975, and to
them goes the best wishes of those who will follow,
for a long and successful career in their chosen profes-
si on .
