OUR MISSION

The Barbara Morrison Performing Arts Center and The California Jazz &
Blues Museum are dedicated to honoring the legacy of its founder, Jazz
and Blues Singer, Barbara Morrison whose vision was to preserve the
cultural richness of the African-American experience in the jazz and blues
industry for future generations. Both the Performing Arts Center and the
Museum are dedicated to visual and auditory music education and
edification, particularly for primary and secondary students, to nourish the
talent of future generations of jazz and blues performers.

ABOUT

The Performing Arts Center and the Museum’s production
Team, led by Barbara’s long-time partner, Tim Morganfield,
Owner & CEO, is a long-time provider of event production
services to chambers of commerce, rotary clubs, merchant
associations, various city agencies, corporations, non-profit
groups, and other event industry professionals. The
museum’s founder, Barbara Morrison had been involved in
the jazz and blues music world for over 50 years
contributing to the production of hundreds of public events
and large music functions.

THIS EVENT BENEFIT A NEW GALLERY AND
ART SPACE IN LEIMERT PARK FOR THE
CALIFORNIA JAZZ & BLUES MUSEUM.

amazing creations of local
artists, and a concert from
12 noon to 8 pm on
Saturday, September 10,
2022. The dedication
ceremony and celebration of
Jazz and Blues will be held
in the square in front of The
Barbara Morrison
Performing Arts Center in
the Leimert Park Arts
District, on the corner of 43rd
and Degnan Avenue of
South Los Angeles. This
event will be hosted by
James Janisse and Jay
Jackson.
