A Township is Born Officials

Hopewell United Methodist Church Brandywine Township was established from the northern section of East Caln Township in BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

stretched from the East Branch of the Brandywine to the West Branch of the Brandywine. Jay G. Fischer, Chairman

Brandywine itself soon became too large to manage efficiently. On February 8, 1843,
inhabitants petitioned for further division of Brandywine Township due to great Kyle P. Scribner, Member

Police Department

East Brandywine Township Police Department (EBTPD) is a Pennsylvania State Accredited police agency providing police protection to the residents of East Brandywine
Township on a 24-hour basis. EBTPD is located at 1212 Horseshoe Pike, Downingtown, PA 19335 in the same complex as the Township Administration Building. EBTPD
is dispatched by Chester County Emergency Services.

EBTPD provides police services that include patrol, criminal investigations, traffic enforcement, accident investigation, and truck enforcement. The EBTPD is a member
of three Chester County regional teams: The Chester County Regional Emergency Response Team (CCRERT), the Serious Crash Assistance Team (SCAT), and the
Major Incident Response Team (MIRT). In addition to the County teams, the department works in conjunction with other local, county, state and federal law enforcement
agencies. We hold memberships in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Justice Network (J-NET), the Middle Atlantic-Great Lakes Organization Crime Law Enforcement
Network (MAGLOCLEN), the Law Enforcement Justice Information Sharing Network (LEGIS) and the Chester County Drug Task Force. These memberships expand our
resources and provide us additional manpower, technology and equipment during complicated investigations. In October 2016, our Police Department was accredited by
the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Program as the 107th police department in Pennsylvania to earn this recognition since the program’s inception in 2001.

Our officers participate in and conduct a variety of community activities which include station tours, speaking engagements, HOA, civic meetings and school group meetings. The Department takes pride in the relationship it has
with Brandywine Wallace Elementary School and officers can be seen interacting with the children multiple times each day throughout the school year. Our Youth Aid Panel, started in 2004, is comprised of residents with
varying professional backgrounds. The panel provides an alternative to the criminal justice system for youth who come into contact with our Police.

EBTPD maintains our website at www.ebtpd.org as well as our Facebook page at facebook.com/EBTPD. Please do not hesitate to contact us at 610-269-4300 or through police radio dispatch 610-383-7000 for additional
information. As always, if you have an emergency, immediately dial 911.
