1. A brief description on our clients in this division:
Seriti, is derived from a Sesotho word meaning integrity.
It describes the aura cast by people as they go through life – the shadow that grows
when an entity does good or diminishes if it misbehaves. So in essence, ‘seriti’ is
your reputation and ultimately your legacy.
“At Seriti, we aim to be constantly aware of the shadow we cast, and aim to create a
positive, empowering and sustainable legacy for our stakeholders, and our country.”
VDD is the first interaction Zizwe has had with Seriti, we currently work at their
Douglas plant operation assisting them with materials handling from the plant to
the discard dump.
2. What does the focus areas on this site entail for 2023?
In 2023, we want to increase our footprint within Seriti not only at MMS but across
other sites. This will not be limited to materials handling only but also mining and
day works opportunities.
3. Please elaborate on the team at VDD.
We are a well-oiled team with plant and operations working hand in hand. Although
we face some challenges every now and again, we still strive to give it our all and
keep the Zizwe name high.
4. How do you integrate the Zizwe values in everyday operations?
Work safety | We focus daily on the safety of our people and equipment, starting
with morning safety meetings, fatigue break check-in and end of shift sign-out
of all employees onsite.
Client satisfaction | We adopt the client’s rules and regulations to ensure that we
perform at optimal level in all areas as per the client requirements.
Team work | Assisting each other in all departments having a united team
between plant, operations and services. This has especially driven our
production targets,
Respect | No matter your title, each employee is equally important and respect
will go both ways.
Care | We spend more time at work then at home, this is our second family which
means that one person’s joy is all our joy. We encourage everyone to engage and
get to know each other on a personal level so that we can understand one
another.
Scope of work
The scope entails loading and
hauling of material in and around the
VDD plants at Middelburg Mines. The
material to be moved include Product, Discard,
Filter Cake and Oversize.

"I saw a primary school pupil carrying a piece of wood to school which
would be used to make fire in order to cook food for lunch, this inspired
