Corporate Responsibility & Compliance
Social Responsibility Report
2021
As a corporate company, compliance to bodies and legislation governs the way we operate our company. What started out as a B-
BBEE initiative quickly escalated into becoming a driven passion to make a difference. The need to help the less fortunate, however,
had always been a priority to Zizwe’s management.
Zizwe has helped local schools, independent sports clubs, provided infrastructure for the communities that they operate in and
supported a variety of other initiatives.
Intentionality, sustainability and accountability. These are the pillars of Zizwe’s Social Responsibility strategy:
Projects need to be intentional in their cause and outcome. Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs proves that the need for a warm meal
outweighs the sponsorship of schoolbags. Zizwe will be intentional in their projects. Basic needs will be identified and addressed
accordingly through a proper screening process.
Our projects will be sustainable. We will do our best to leave our beneficiaries in a better place than where we first found them. We
aim for long term relationships with all our beneficiaries.
We acknowledge that our social responsibility impact can reach far beyond our individual capacity if we take hands with other
coporates. We are accountable to provide transparent information to all our partners and we commit to reporting on projects as
regularly and thoroughly as possible. We will assist our beneficiaries to get exposure to a wide variety of audiences and donors.
Zizwe will focus on surrounding communities to make sure that they receive the proper support.
Corporate Responsibility & Compliance
Lentsoe Selloe, Social Responsibility Manager, provides a
comprehensive framework for our community projects:
• How do you decide which projects to support?
We discuss it with our clients and the ideas must be aligned
with both our policies and the availability of funds.
• How do you typically get involved in a project?
I have committed to providing my contacts to our communities and other
structures, the aim being to provide access for anyone who would like to know how
to raise their concerns in the form of proposals. We also give a guideline on social
investment proposals.
All proposals are sent to the client and are also pre-assessed when received.
• Do you use a specific model to assist an organisation when you get involved
in a project?
The Model is simple:
1. Send a business proposal to the client and copy Lentsoe
2. Make sure the proposal is accompanied by the Business plan
3. Make sure that you have valid documentation for the company.
4. If the proposal has been approved, it is then decided if it would be taken on
Supplier or Enterprise development model.
Stakeholder engagement includes:
1. Community (stakeholder)
2. Client Stakeholder (Social Performance/
Transformaon department)
3. Client Stakeholder arranges engagement with the
Community stakeholder and the Zizwe Social
Responsibility department
4. An engagement takes place with all three pares of
interest If need be for further feedback form either
Zizwe, the Social Responsibility department or the
Community stakeholder, it is then communicated
via the Client Stakeholder
