Welcome to Ullswater Community College. Here at Ullswater
we are proud to provide the best possible education for all our
students. We work hard every day to ensure all our students feel

UNIFORM LOG
College Uniform Procedures
If, for any reason, you are not wearing college uniform, you should ask your parents to
complete the Uniform Log on this page explaining the circumstances and when you will be
returned to full college uniform. Persistent failure to wear uniform will lead to detention. You
may be sent home to get uniform if this is practicable. Your parents will be made aware of
uniform issues by your Form Tutor.

• A white shirt with long or short sleeves, of a
type designed to be worn with a tie; the shirt
must be tucked in
• A plain black V-necked, or crew-necked
pullover or cardigan; if crew-necked the tie
must be clearly visible
• A plain, outdoor garment (tracksuit tops,
hoodies and denim jackets are not permitted
and should not be brought into school)
• Plain black, full-length, trousers (not tracksuit
bottoms, jeans or leggings)
• Plain black skirt; minimum length just above
the knee
• Plain black, polishable shoes (not trainers or
canvas)
• Plain black socks or black tights
• Extremes of hairstyling or colouring are not
permitted
• Excessive make-up is not allowed in college
• Jewellery is limited to one small earring, or stud per
ear. For health and safety, students will need to
remove these for practical lessons i.e. PE or technology, and facial or body piercing is
not permitted
School blazers can be purchased from any retailer, both Sam Scotts and Lakeland
Embroidery in Penrith have supplies of the UCC badge.
In September 2019 we are introducing a new PE kit:

Current PE kit is still acceptable, but once students require new kit it will only be available
online.
Samples will be available in student services for sizing only. Student services also stock
stationery kits, revision guides and school ties, that students can purchase at break or
lunchtime.

Learner of the Week
Each week subject departments will nominate a student who has shown a great attitude
to learning in that subject. Your parents will receive a letter from the Headteacher
congratulating you on your achievement.
Tutee of the Week
Each week Form Tutors will nominate a student who has shown exceptional commitment
to their form or Year Group or the wider school community.

If you are absent you need to make sure you
