Student Resume Students will create a basic resume
Orientation Program Students will work in a four-person human resources team for a large company. Students will
develop an orientation program for new employees. Students will design a presentation about
Mock Interviews the company to welcome new employees to their jobs. They can choose to invent a company or
choose an existing one. Present the company to the class using an overhead poster, brochure or
PowerPoint presentation.
-Students will research common interview questions to help prepare for mock interviews
-Students will participate in mock interviews in preparation for employability skills

Digital Design

Activity Details/Skills Covered

The ABC’s of Employability Using the employability skills listed within the handout students will create a new employee
information package. Students will define the various skills with an example and/or a picture.
Dress for Success Students will then create a presentation in the form of a (PowerPoint, Foldable, Brochure, etc).
Students in CTAE classes are given points for each week in which they participate on
Employability Graphic Wednesday’s “Dress for Success”. These points count as 5% of the course grade.
Organizer Using www.wordle.net students will create a graphic organizer listing at list 8 employability
Your Keeping Skills skill employers are seeking.
“You’re the Boss Now” Students will create a handout using the employability skills they identify within their
employability graphic organizer. Students will create their own business and list 5-10 qualities
that you expect as an employer at their business.

Workplace Rights and Laws Students will fill in the graphic organizer provided to identify workplace laws and how they
protect workers.

Web Design Details/Skills Covered

1. What do you think employers expect out of their employees?

I think employers look for employees who have the skillset that matches their needs.
Employers expect employees to be on-time and follow the rules of the company.

I think it’s important to have the skills mentioned above because they are the basic skills
that employers look for. These skills should be natural skills and not have to be taught.

My plans after high school are to attend a technical school such as Atlanta Technical
College and earn my associates degree to save money. My next goal will be to use the
money I save on my education and use it towards my first car. I know I will need a car in
order to get a job and go back and forth to school.

4. What is your career goal?
My career goal is to become an Accountant or Lawyer. Right now I don’t know for sure
which career I would like to go into but it’s between these two fields.
