PEER TUTORING

KPU Peer Tutors are highly trained KPU students who provide a wide range of
subject area tutoring. You can book an appointment with a Peer Tutor either
face-to-face or online. Tutors are available on all campuses and can provide

WRITING RIGHT IN BIOLOGY (1 hour)

Scientific writing involves clear, concise communication as you express your knowledge
on tests and exams. In this workshop, you will explore the key types of questions asked
in biology, and practice developing strong answers that meet your instructor’s criteria
for success.

INTRODUCTION, MATERIAL, AND METHOD (1 hour)

Biology courses require you to learn to write like a scientist. In this workshop,
you will explore the sections of a lab report, the information required, and how
they fit together. Particular focus will be given to the format of an introduction
and integrating sources well into your writing.

LEARNING THE LANGUAGE OF ACCOUNTING:
STRATEGIES FOR UNDERSTANDING AND
REMEMBERING ACCOUNTING TERMS (1 hour)

When you first start studying Accounting, it may seem like your
Instructor (and textbook) are speaking in a whole new language.
Mastering this language early in your course will help you to
understand the material you are learning more easily. This workshop
will introduce you to strategies for remembering new Accounting
terms and for improving your understanding of material you read.

KPU librarians can help you develop and refine your research and
information literacy skills. To this end, the Library offers a variety of
collections and services. No student graduates from KPU without
having an opportunity to be trained in the critical thinking so important
today.

Each campus library has a research help desk where you can work
individually with a librarian to find the information you need. Just ask
for help at the desk!
