Yearbook Staff

hen one thinks of work

Won a yearbook staff, long
thoughts run to late
hours after school and
weekend sessions. It didn’t hap

pen with this year’s staff. With

organization and efficiency, the

staff was able to turn out a year-

' book without the late hours.

They did, however, come in on

weekends and holidays to finish

off that extra page or two and

meet deadlines to record and

produce “A Page in Time” for

Theater Group

Producing a memorable play is a dif
ficult task. However, this year’s
spring stage production was under
taken by the MHS Theater Group
with enthusiasm. Following last
year’s successful play of “Our
Town” by Thornton Wilder, this
year’s entry “Good News" by
Laurence Schwab and B. G. DeSylva
was an entertaining musical-comedy.
The talented cast of actors, singers,
and dancers were directed by Mrs.
Mary Beth Sandia. Musical assistance
was under Mr. Ed Ball; set design
and construction crews were led by
Ms. Diane Lee.

CHRISTMAS ALOHA

The holiday season was a time to
gather in celebration and unity. Here
at Maryknoll, this “gathering time”
took place with the annual Christmas
Aloha pageant. All divisions partici
pated in the festivities by singing a
collection of Christmas carols for the
audience December 10, 1988.
Christmas Aloha was a time to dem
onstrate spirit, love, and unity. A
mandatory song was assigned to
each division titled “Give Love on
Christmas Day”. Rogers Hall came
alive with all divisions singing togeth
er accomplishing the unity and spirit
shared at Maryknoll not only at
Christmas, but throughout the year.

(Opposite page, top) Freshmen Janique Yang, Emiko Sumida, Clarissa Narcisco, and
Christina Parker captivate the audience with their smiles as the Class of ’92 shares their
Christmas spirit. (Center) Family, friends, and faculty look on as the seniors bond together and
sing the Alma Mater to close Christmas Aloha 1988. (Top right) The Class of 1990 ends their
performance with a grand “YEAH!” after sharing their version of the story, “The Giving Tree.”

final Christmas Aloha performance. (Above) Maria Gavieres, Jennifer Ishii, and Golden

JUST A MOMENT

1 he yearbook is a refleetion of lime. It refleets the
