a word whose meaning is often abstract and varied. To some it may
mean that you’re a couple, a team, a crew, an ensemble, a club, a class, a school, a
community, or a family. But throughout this school year, what has that word meant to
you?

FRESHMEN, maybe this is your first year at Maryknoll and you found solace in those
like you. Did you join a new sports team? A new club? Did you make new friends?
Reconnect with old ones? Bond with a new teacher?

SOPHOMORES, did you find a new family in your new advisory? Maybe you've
found your place in a club or on a team. Maybe you found a new girlfriend or
boyfriend, a new person to bring you joy in your life. Did you go to sophomore banquet
with all your friends because finding a date is overrated?

JUNIORS, did you realize yet that time is running out? Did you cherish your second
to last year with your friends? Maybe you helped your team win a big game. Maybe
you started to help run a club or organization. Did you tell your friends how much they
mean to you? Did you try to pull your class together for your incoming senior year?

did you make this year count? Have you told your classmates and teachers
and friends how much they mean to you? Have you thanked them for what they have
done? Have you made your last year memorable with your friends? Maybe you
realized how far this class has come and how much we have grown? Did you make
your senior night count with your team? Are you leaving your clubs in good shape for
the next round of officers?

Regardless of grade level and individual experiences, everyone has experienced
TOGETHERNESS this year. It's those feelings, those experiences that matter most about
high school. When you look back in however many years, you are going to remember
those crazy, dumb, fun things you did with your high school buddies, and not so much
your SAT scores. Underclassmen, time is running out and there is no time to waste
causing drama and abandoning your friends. Seniors, our time is up. However, we will
always hold close those times tnat we had together, those memories will not fade. It is
the time we spent together that matters, not how we left it.
