M a ry k n o ll?

My most memorable experience at Maryknoll
has to be Class Night and Graduation. Just being
there on the stage with all of my friends and
classmates, many who I had known for over half my
life, brought on so many emotions and feelings of
accomplishment and relief that we had finally done
it and finished high school.

The transition to online due to the COVID-19
pandemic brought upon a wide range of emotions,
from the uncertainty of how-to best switch from
consistently writing on a whiteboard to not having a
whiteboard, to the fear and concern for the
wellbeing of family and friends.

H o w d o y o u th in k M a ry k n o ll p re p a re d y o u fo r life a fte r h ig h s c h o o l?

The biggest way Maryknoll prepared me for life after high school was being able to

find calm when under pressure and to excel when times get tough. ^

O v e r tim e h o w h a v e y o u se e n M ary k n o ll c h a n g e ?

I feel that the good things have stayed. Maryknoll has changed so much over the

years that I attended to the years that I ’ve been fortunate enough to teach. There’s been U

changes to the campus such as the construction of the gym, to renovations to classrooms
and transforming them into 21st century classrooms, to the addition of the music room
and the dance studio, AND let’s not forget about the demolition of the stage at the high
school that almost no students know existed. I have also seen Maryknoll undergo changes!
with curriculum from switching from trimesters to semesters and switching from block
schedules to flex schedules. Not to forget all the use of technology by teachers and
students, even before the pandemic.
