program officially began with the
annual faculty parade and the pre
sentation of sponsors. Our precision
drill team was chosen to represent
the Civil Air Patrol at the Aloha
Week Parade and received, “ the best
in the competition.” Soon after this
honor came the appointment, by
Colonel Dillingham, Hawaii C.A.P.
Commander, for our drill team to be
the official Hawaii Wing Drill Team.
This “nova” program has given
our unit many delightful experi
ences. The cadets were allowed to
use Bellows Field for glider train
ing, and many are on their way to
the needed experience and hours for
a license. There were trips to the
outer islands, and the never to be
forgotten experience of playing host
to the world-renowned “Thunder-

COACH ESPINDA TIMOTHY "WONG
Sparked by the efforts of the five
starters, Jimmy Wong, Timmy Wong,
Lee Cashman, Ben Sills, and Francis
Souza, Maryknoll played a fine
season.
The basketball quintet was much
better than their 3-7 record revealed.
Their ability was seen especially in
the hard fought game with St. Louis.
Our thanks goes to Coach A1 Espinda
for having done a fine job with his
boys.
New additions from the Junior Var
sity to the team were Mel Silva, Wally
Rezentes, and Chester Kanai and Greg
Labrador. Staging a comeback from
last year were the five starters and
