Karen M. Hall, Acting Hiring Liaison/Unlicensed Nursing Staff

Actively Recruiting:
Nursing Assistant Professional Standards Board

The Nursing Assistant Professional Standards Board (NAPSB) is actively recruiting for
members to serve on the reorganized NAPSB. A formal email will be coming out soon with
further details on how to recommend your nursing assistants to become a valuable member of
the NAPSB.

Retention/Nursing Assistants:

What are we doing to retain Nursing Assistants?

What are we doing to make it more attractive for nursing assistants to not only choose
the VA Maryland Health Care System, but to stay with our organization. We are
making sure each employee selected is being compensated according to the skills,
qualifications, and training they bring to the table.
Recommendations for a salary increase above the entry level will be considered using
prior experience, education, certifications, special skills, professional participation and
recognition. We value the expertise everyone brings to serve our veterans and we want
to compensate them accordingly.
