Inauguration of the "Milano Finanza – Classica Circuito”:
Radio Classica to produce daily news programs and special
interest programs on a weekly basis; the productions will be
aired through a syndicated network nationwide
Milan, 27 February 2003.
Radio Classica, the radio station owned and operated by Class Editori (Milan
Stock Exchange, ticker:CLE) which broadcasts classical music and financial news,
has reached an important agreement with several leading local radio stations for the
creation of the Milano Finanza – Classica Circuito, the first in Italy dedicated to
financial and economic information.
Starting 1 March 2003, the editorial team of Radio Classica will produce five daily
newscasts and a series of programs on current developments in the economy and
financial markets to be broadcast during the weekends. The programs, which are to
be developed in collaboration with MF/Milano Finanza and Cfn/Cnbc, are to be
aired nationwide by local radio stations who have joined the Milano Finanza –
Classica Circuito.
The newscasts produced by Radio Classica should thus reach a net audience of
around 1.2 million per day, and more than 4.5 million during the weekend (as
I
certified by the official audience mesaurement company Audiradio). The target
audience is thus considered appetizing for advertisers, especially considering the
scheduled broadcast time and the socio-geographic segmentation of the target.
The Milano Finanza - Classica Circuito is expected to boost the national profile of
the programming of Radio Classica (www.radioclassica.net), Italy's only radio
station offering a mix of classic music and financial/economic news. The advertising
for the circuit will be handled by Class Pubblicità, the advertising concessionaire for
Class Editori.
Commenting on the inauguration of the network, Paolo Panerai, managing
director and chief editor of Class Editori, states, "The creation of the Milano
Finanza – Classica Circuito represents an important step in developing the activity
of Radio Classica, and further underscores the position of the station as the
recognized leader in broadcasting economic and financial news. The agreement,
besides, further develops the production of content for third parties, that was
launched in 2002 by Class Editori with an agreement between Cfn/Cnbc and LA7
(Seat Pagine Gialle television) covering the production of programs for the daily
broadcast of financial and economic news."
