George Shaeffer founded our company in 1979 when Vail was young. Our company grew
alongside the community, establishing relationships with local architects, building a reputation for

the Colorado Mountains. Today, the company that George built is led by David Hyde. As a LEED-
accredited professional, David continues to move the company forward, helping design teams
and clients navigate sustainable design and construction practices, and introducing technology
that streamlines cost modeling and catalogs the details of every project.

PRESIDENT David is the President and an owner of Shaeffer
Hyde Construction. He has worked in the

knowledge and passion for green building. David
David Hyde has an ongoing interest in learning about new
products and techniques to make strides in
sustainability. Currently running the day-to-day
operations of Shaeffer Hyde, David is engaged in
each project. He is an active board member with
the Vail Valley Foundation. David participates in
the CareerWise Apprenticeship program, which
offers a pathway for high school students to obtain
hands-on training for good-paying jobs in the
community. David is a youth basketball coach,
enjoys skiing, playing in a band, and mountain
biking in his spare time. The Hydes have two sons.
One is attending high school, and one will be
starting at the University of Colorado this fall.

DIRECTOR OF ASPEN VALLEY Bob grew up in a family of builders and has always
had a laser focus on his career path. He is a five-

Our Preconstruction Department produces tangible benefits MANAGER

Construction Management HEATHER DUNCAN
DIRECTOR OF OPPERATIONS
Our Construction Department has built the finest homes in the University of Colorado
Colorado Mountains and surrounding areas for more than Mechanical Engineering
three decades. We have constructed over one hundred
custom homes in addition to maintaining a presence in the PROJECT MANAGERS
commercial arena. A Project Manager acts as the client's
liaison during the construction process and is responsible for BRYCE CAMPBELL, LEED AP
the administration of the project. This includes budget and BOB CAMPBELL, LEED AP
schedule updates, subcontractor buy-outs, managing DENNIS THOMPSON
changes in the work, invoicing, and the dissemination of JON STEVENSON

assigned full-time to an individual project. Involved from
groundbreaking through completion, the Superintendent is SUPERINTENDENTS
responsible for the day-to-day scheduling, quality control and
